Something I didn’t expect to learn (ad) most “cooling” sheets aren’t actually cool because of the fabric. They feel cold because of chemical coatings — some of which contain PFAS, the same compounds linked to thyroid and hormone disruption.

I’ve been experiencing hormone fluctuations for about a year. Waking up overheated, not getting back to sleep, running hot when I used to run cold. I started looking into cooling bedding and ended up in a rabbit hole I wasn’t prepared for.

The thing that got me was a test where they apply synthetic sweat to the fabric to see if any chemicals migrate from the material into the liquid.
