A bright spring dress for a black tie wedding last night!

I’ve been slowly trying to accumulate art for our walls, and my mom brought the perfect solution with her the last time she visited! She gifted me some handpainted plates she received as a wedding gift and an invisible edge plate hanger that I decided would be a great way to add some color and interest to the corner of our living room! While plates may not be “art” they make a great affordable option that can make a big impact when hung in a group. This is the perfect solution to any one off plates you may see at antique stores or estate sales!

I found myself listening to more podcasts than audiobooks this month, but I’d love recommendations of books to add to my reading list for this month. From around the house to out the door, this @lakepajamas Hammock Shorts Set can be worn for it all! I’m loving this new launch of lilac and loved this silhouette so much I got it in the blue and white stripe set that sold out last summer.

And for anyone concerned about the heath of the flowers in this reel, they are now thriving again despite looking a bit wimpy in this video. #lakepartner

I’ve put together my best tips for applying tape trim to these Amazon curtain panels! I did another pair of these last summer and after being so impressed by the outcome knew I’d be doing a second pair for our guest bedroom.

This pair of panels is $70 on Amazon and they have a pinch pleat header, the pleats are already well trained, they come with drapery pins, they’re blackout, and they even have a weight at the bottom to make sure they hang nicely! You can get them in multiple colors and lengths, but this pair is “white” and the ones in our bedroom are “natural.”

I ordered my trim from Etsy and have linked a collection of favorite trims in my stories (also on my LTK AND YOU CAN FIND ME BY SEARCHING “prepinyourstep”) if picking out trim seems overwhelming! Keep in mind that a wider trim may make it trickier to adhere to the pinch pleat but will make more of a statement. I wouldn’t choose anything wider than 3.5” and tend to base the curtain color on the background color of the trim to make them feel more cohesive and professional!

We use these with curtain rings and French return rods which I ordered from Amazon and have linked on my Amazon storefront.

Finally getting around to sharing photos from our end of October Wedding Weekend! We started the festivities with the most beautiful bridesmaid’s luncheon with family and bridesmaids thanks to such gracious hostesses. Fun fact, the house where this was hosted is the same house where Hunter & I got engaged adding to all the fun memories here with friends that feel more like family!

I really struggled with what I wanted to wear for this and landed on the most perfect white dress with blue bows by @janesummersnewyork! They offer a variety of silhouettes that fit a number of bridal occasions and this style (James Strapless White Tea Length Mermaid Style with Light Blue Ribbons) was exactly what I had hoped for. I even decided to put on my wedding shoes a day early thanks to how perfectly they matched the ties!

The pieces from my recent Old Navy order are now 50% off! These skirts are my absolute favorite tennis / workout skirts and I order them in a medium. I got the purple workout dress in a medium regular length (returning the tall version). And the tank is a size medium as well!

Our primary bedroom is coming together and I’m excited to share it with y’all today along with some of the other ideas we have for the space! Most of the furniture we already had or were able to get for a deal on Facebook marketplace making it easy to update with new pillows, rugs, and lamps and my favorite Amazon curtains upgraded with tape trim and heat n bond. I’d love to change up the art, but overall love the way our pillows combine more masculine colors on a floral print and am so happy with this rug purchase to add warmth and make the space feel grounded!
