This year’s tree is completely fresh— every single ornament is new. I’m a little sad because Zach and I have collected ornaments from everywhere we’ve traveled, and they’re all trapped in storage right now. But honestly? Starting from scratch gave this tree a whole new personality, and I kind of love the clean slate.

And the prep is honestly the funniest part: they strap sensors to your wrists, ankles, and chest, and you get to watch each other move around like confused Sims before the VR even starts. Then once the headset goes on… it’s over for you. You’re in Hawkins for real.

Terrifying. Hysterical. Adrenaline-packed. And Pancake? She didn’t care about the screaming! She literally took a nap while we battled the upside down.

If you hear screaming (or crying), it’s just me trying to recreate the Christmas Vacation tree… without blowing a fuse.
Step one is officially done — the entire tree has lights, every branch is fluffed, and she’s finally starting to look like the vision in my head. This is my first year with a King of Christmas tree, and the setup already feels so much easier (and prettier) than what I’ve used in the past.
