Designer take on nursery design… splurge on the glider and save on the crib! As an interior designer, I was VERY picky about our chair. This was my actual list (lol)— because I typically hate swivel gliders…

-comfortable
-meets my aesthetic standards
-wood base (instead of ugly metal)
-discreet / easy to conceal cord
-charging port
-performance fabric
-full motion: swivel, glide, rock, and recline
-made here in the US

That’s why I ordered a chair from @oilostudio … Their Teddy rolled arm chair is honestly at the top of my list. I was just a few months too early for it. I hope this helps if you have a little one on the way, or are designing a nursery! As a new mom, this was the review I would have liked.

As a designer, off the top of my head— here are 5 worthy home investments:

1. Plumbing fixtures… I’m partial to polished nickel and antique or living brass.
2. Bedding… I love the soft, classic, and relaxed look of linen, but I’d also include a great mattress and duvet / pillow inserts.
3. Reverse osmosis… or a bar tap for filtered water— even better if it dispenses hot water. Such a luxury!
4. Rugs… vintage, hand-knotted, wool, jute, etc (natural materials always).
5. Door hardware… heavy and substantial hardware that adds weight to your door or cabinet. I like a backplate with an interesting knob or pull.
