Sometimes when Layla is sleeping and I have some alone time, I forget for a quick moment that I’m a mom. I get so caught up in being mom, that I forget to be me. I remember that we all need that “me” time. It’s easy to get caught up in being just mom or dad and lose yourself. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE being Layla’s momma, but I can’t forget to be Sarah, too.

I sort of feel guilty occasionally whenever I take time to do things I enjoy without the little lady. Today I went yardsailing with my bestie and it was actually rejuvenating to my soul. I hadn’t been since before Layla was born. To some that might not be much, but if you know me, you know I love treasure hunting and thrifting.

It’s funny when I feel guilty but yet I am having fun at the same time. Can you tell I have mixed emotions about leaving my baby girl? I’ve finally realized it’s all about balance. I can’t be the best momma I can be without being Sarah first.

Figuring this whole motherhood thing out isn’t an easy road. You have no freaking clue what you are doing except being the best momma you can be. Motherhood is challenging, and we’re all flying by the seat of our pants. What is something you enjoy doing for “me” time?
