Do what you love and you will love what you do.

I used to walk for the numbers.
The weight loss.
The goals.
I was always on a mission it seems. 

Now I walk because it’s where I find peace.
A reset button for my body and my brain.

The fresh air, the rhythm of my steps, the quiet moments—
It’s not about burning maximum calories. 
It’s about honoring and appreciating my body. 

If you’re in your 40s, 50s, or beyond, and walking is your favorite form of self-care—same.

Some days self care is a nice stroll with my dog, another day it’s walking fast and wearing my weighted vest. 

Both ways work for me. 

The best part is the freedom of just going with my energy at the time. I no longer feel like I am on a mission. 

The rewards are endless.

There’s no rhyme or reason for this post. I just wanted to say do what you love and be consistent. 

I love rebounding and do it almost every day. I also love to walk. Occasionally I throw in some kettlebell swings. 

But the most effective exercise is the one you actually do. Not the one everyone says you should do. 

I have done everything over the years. Running, Zumba, Spin classes, yoga, weight training, group fitness classes…they were all effective. 

The common denominator is that I made my ‘workout’ a priority. I got up early and got it in before I had to get the kids up and ready for school. 

Then it was getting up early to get it in before I went to work. 

There was a season in my life where I did group classes at night after work. 

Find out what you like to do and make it a regular part of your day. You don’t have to do the same exercise for the rest of your life. 

Seasons change and so do we. Right now I find rebounding is my thing. There is no pounding on my joints. I can get cardio, muscle building, and flexibility all covered in one workout. The risk of injury is low. There is no stress on my back or joints. I know rebounding will always be in season for me now. And I can mix in other forms of exercise whenever I feel like it.

🩶 married 43 years 💍
🩶 mom to 3 kids and Mimi to 3 grandkids 
🩶 I was a SAHM for 10 years 
🩶 retired reading teacher 📚
🩶 favorite hobby is reading (no surprise 😝)
🩶 cat and dog lover 🐈🐕
🩶 walking brings me peace amidst the chaos 
🩶 I have done yoga, zumba, strength training, group fitness, step aerobics, tae bo, spin, HITT and a plethora of other fitness regimens over the years but rebounding is my favorite 💪🏻
🩶 I was known as scarf lady by some of my students because I owned so many pashmina scarves at one time 🧣 
🩶 I used to plan out my outfits for a month of no repeats. One time my brother stashed my list in the freezer 🥶
🩶 being overweight in my early teens is what spurred my passion for fashion and fitness 

My goal for this page is to share my outfits and find the best deals and pass them along to you. 

I am so blessed to have this space to express myself. The older I get the easier it is. The support from everyone on here is so appreciated 🙏

Nope! Not selfish. This is me choosing me. 

Even on the busiest days I carve out time for myself. Even if it means getting up before dawn. 

Whether you’re just enjoying a quiet cup of coffee before work, taking a walk or reading a good book before bed…  it’s all good.

Bored with your workout?  Try rebounding!  It’s definitely not your average workout. 🏋️. 

Why not bounce your way into strength, cardiovascular fitness, and flexibility? 

And on those days when you’re not motivated to workout you won’t have to force yourself to do it because rebounding will boost your energy and energize you instead of deplete you and tank your adrenals.

What’s your why?  Why do you workout?  Or stay active? Or try to eat better? 

My why is because I want to be able to do all the things! 

I want to:
✔️ Run around with my grandkids 
✔️ Go up and down the stairs a million times a day 
✔️ Walk miles on the beach chasing the sunrise or sunset
✔️ Go to Disney and walk all day (never been there)
✔️ Park anywhere in the parking lot instead of trying to find the closest empty spot 
✔️ Clean the house and do yard work without having to rest the next day
✔️ Stay independent. My husband used to grocery shop for his grandparents and they were only in their 70s. I don’t want that to happen to me. 
✔️ Travel
✔️ Stay feisty and free

I am sure there is so much more I can’t think of right now. 🤗

Time sure does fly doesn’t it?  The older you get the faster it goes. 

When you’re young you are doing all the things family life entails. School activities, sports, work. It’s all a blur of activity. 

Then one day you wake up and it’s not so busy. You have time to appreciate the little moments. 

A quiet walk in the morning,  coffee with a friend, the laughter of your grandchildren, spending time with your adult children, reading a good book. 

You see things you missed before. The blue house you drive by every day but never noticed. The flowers growing on the side of the road. The kids laughing and playing in the neighborhood. 

Savor these things. I know I appreciate them now more than ever. 🙏
