The view from the dining room to the sitting room featuring one of Piglet’s many squirrel toys 🐿️

I’m very excited because I finally found a jute rug that I love for a good price last night, so I’ll be switching out the sitting room rug very soon. I also think I am going to hang some art on the side of that vintage cabinet so it’s reflected in the trifold mirror. I think I have the perfect pieces and the perfect frames already — just need to order some mats and glass 👀
Bought this couch for him 🥹
Tortellini soup is on the stove tonight and I’m very happy for the start of soup season 😋
Our arched vanity alcove is still one my favorite details from our Tudor renovation. This spot used to be two small closets, but I think it was always meant to be this 🥹

File this Aesop mouthwash under things I absolutely did not need but am obsessed with 😆

I bought this mouthwash months ago (admittedly because I couldn’t stand to look at the grocery store brand bottle for one more minute 😂) and while the actual Aesop product is long gone, the glass bottle has been PERFECT for refilling with our regular brand. Highly recommend if you want a one time mouthwash splurge (~$30) that comes with a pretty, reusable bottle.

Also obsessed with this lotion from @soinscolomba and wishing I could hop on a flight to Paris right now to buy more 🥲

We stayed at @hotelrochechouart when we were in Paris back in May and our room was stocked with all of the Soins Colomba products. I fell in love with the scent and came back with a candle, shampoo, lotion, and soap, which are all just about empty now (🥲). This line is exclusive to @orsohotels and you can only buy it in France at one of their properties… so if you’re lucky enough to stay at one of their hotels, stock up, because I am now having withdrawals 😆
This corner of our bedroom might be my favorite 🤎
I have been on the hunt for something simple and moody for this ornate, antique frame, so I commissioned this piece from @gabriellaraeart and it is just perfect! The colors have so much depth that the pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s especially good when it’s lit up at night with the picture light 🤤
The guest bedroom doesn’t get photographed very often, but this paint color is one my favs — Svelte Sage by Sherwin Williams 🤤
Still quite a few things I’d like to do in here, but we have been LOVING having a sofa in the sitting room. If you missed my stories a few weeks ago, we found this 95” slipcovered Pottery Barn York Sofa on fbmp for $145. The cover needed some TLC, but otherwise it was in perfect condition. I definitely shrunk the slip cover a little bit in the cleaning process, but I’ve been looking at inspo of vintage slipcovered sofa with caster legs that stick out and I’m kind of loving that look… so maybe I’ll buy some caster legs 👀

Right now we’re just working with what we have in this space, but I’d love to add some more color & pattern in here, replace the rug with something vintage or natural fiber, find a coffee table, add more art, potentially add a mirror on the back wall… so more to come in here, but we’re just enjoying having a sofa for now (especially Piglet)!
Another one of our France finds found its home in my favorite little kitchen nook. This cream colored, handmade oil cruet from @cicadidae_en_provence was sort of a love at first sight kind of find. This shop was right around the corner from our hotel in Saint-Rémy and this piece was on a display outside and caught my eye as we were walking by. The funny thing was that earlier in the day we met a couple at a winery, and during our conversation they specifically mentioned loving this shop. At the time we had no idea it was right by our hotel, but it was a fun little coincidence when I realized it was the same shop they were telling us about. Now, whenever I use this little cruet, I’m reminded of that couple and our afternoon at @chateau_romanin.
John let me live out my “moody English hunting lodge” dreams in his office and it’s one of everybody’s favorite spaces (especially Piglet 🐶). The walls are full of sentimental and collected pieces that we love, and the moody blue paint color makes it feel so cozy.

Piglet LOVES to lay on the back of the couch and look out the window. He’s also very particular about this cushion — we tried to rotate it out with another one so it didn’t get too worn and he wouldn’t even sit on the other one… so this one is all his 😂

I finally found a pair of matching frames for these blue prints at an estate sale. We found these blue prints in the workshop from 1999 when the screened in porch was added and I felt like they were perfect for this gallery wall. I want to get new mats, but the frames are just perfect here!

I found this framed, hand painted reproduction of The Arab Tent by Edwin Henry Landseer at an estate sale last year for $60 and it’s one of those pieces I wish I could have in multiple spaces all at once. The texture on the piece is just stunning, the frame is INCREDIBLE, and I just love anything with animals 🥹
Our closet still has a long way to go, but adding this vintage chaise reminded me that even unfinished spaces can be made beautiful. I’ve been hesitant to style this space because I know the current setup is temporary, but the truth is, we’ll probably live with it like this for a while. Adding this one piece completely changed how the room feels to me, and now instead of seeing everything that’s left to do, I see a space I actually enjoy walking into. I think sometimes it’s worth making a temporary space feel a little more like home in the interim 🥹
Another one of our paintings from France found a home in our entryway (for now). I found this one at a flea market in Antibes and I honestly think it’s my favorite of all the pieces we brought back, which is funny because I almost didn’t get it (more on that in the next caption). On the back it says “Eze-S-Mer, Peinture À L’huile Et Au Couteau”, which translate to something along the lines of “oil painting with knife”, and the texture is just incredible.

So more on the “I almost didn’t get it” part 😂

Antibes was the first stop on our trip, and this was at the first flea market we went to. I walked by it probably 10 times before I bought it, because I couldn’t decide if I really loved it or if it was just the first piece that caught my eye. I also wanted to make sure we had enough cash for the Paris fleas at the end of the trip, so I was trying not to spend too much on the first stop. As it turns out though, I really did love it and I probably would have never stopped thinking about it for the rest of my life, so I am so glad it came back home with me. Also, we also didn’t even spend all of our cash by the end of the trip, so I probably could have been a little less reserved in the beginning 😆

The day we found this piece, we were supposed to be on a boat in the French Riveria, but unfortunately the host had to cancel, so we decided to take the train to Èze and visit the little village in from our painting. It was B E A U T I F U L, but I must say, Èze on a weekend at lunch time is a terrible time to visit. It was so crowded it was hard to enjoy the beauty of the place. If we ever make it back here, we’ll be planning accordingly 😆

The the colors and textures are everything 🤤

It actually came framed, but I feel like it deserves something better than this one. I’ve been searching at antique stores and estate sales for the perfect one, but until then I’m loving it on the easel. Also, the signature being carved into the painting is 100/10 🤤

The writing on the back!
The flea market finds from our trip France are slowly but surely finding their homes around the house. These two paintings landed in our primary bathroom, which was not where I expected to put them when I bought them, but I LOVE getting to look at them every single morning when I get ready and every single night before bed 🥹

Swipe to the next photo for more details on these pieces —>

I found these two framed original paintings at the Brocante de la Rue de Bretagne in Paris, which only happens twice a year, and it happened to be during the weekend we were there. It was so good that we went two days in a row, and I am so glad we did, because I found both of these pieces on the second day!

I actually saw the bottom piece on the first day, but I assumed it was out of my price range and was too scared to ask. When I saw it was still there on the second day, I worked up the courage to ask and to my surprise it was only 80€, so obviously that was an immediate yes. The second piece caught my eye because of the green Tudor style half timbering on the building, and when the seller told me it was only 20€ it was another immediate yes.

The detail on the large frame and the patina on the painting get me every time 🤤

I did have to scrub cobwebs off the frame before putting it in my suitcase to come home though — but totally worth it!

I didn’t expect to pair these two together when I bought, and I certainly didn’t expect to hang them in our bathroom, but I absolutely love them here 🤎
A moment for the new rug and light fixture in the dining room 🤤
Fish platter, meet fish painting 🐟

This painting has just been leaning here for a while now, but we finally decided to hang it on the wall last weekend. I was trying to decide what to pair with it, and then remembered I had this handmade fish serving platter in the kitchen and I think they make the perfect pair.
Happy 4th from the garden!
I get so many questions about this paint color, and for good reason! We love it so much that we have it in three different spaces (here, our guest bathroom, and our powder bath). So if you’ve been wondering, it’s @sherwinwilliams Honed Soapstone (SW 9126). It’s a muted, earthy green that works well with both cool and warm tones (and looks perfect with honed soapstone countertops too 💁‍♀️).
Just a Piggy living his best life, and a rest in peace post to this cutie vintage lamp. The part where the socket is attached broke, and the wires sparked when we tried to fix it… so she had to go 😅

Now to find her replacement 👀
Reminiscing on a magical ten days in the South of France and Paris. It’s impossible to squeeze everything into 20 photos, but these are a few of my favorites 🥹

Feeling very inspired by all of the beautiful places we visited and the little pieces of France we brought back with us!
This corner looked a lot different three years ago 👀
I’ll take my spring flowers in a tortoise glass vase 💐
How many salt and pepper shakers are too many? Asking for a friend 😅
Fresh flowers, fresh fruit, and fresh bagels on the island is my love language 💁‍♀️
She doesn’t have natural light, but she does have charm 💁‍♀️
My phone reminded me that we closed on the Tudor three years ago yesterday, and it has come such a long way since then 🥹

The entryway is probably one of the spaces that had the simplest transformation — new floors, new paint, and a new light fixture — but looking back at where we started three years ago, it feels like so much more (swipe to the end to see the before).
Spring morning light in the dining room is a favorite of mine 🤎
It’s almost charcuterie on the patio season and we can’t wait 🧀🍷🐶
