Every now and then a new jean rolls in and quietly starts selling out. This is how all the cool trends begin, and it’s one of the really exciting things about working in fashion. Last year, I picked up the Mother Bookie jeans at Selfridges in London. Silly, really, because the price was double — but the weather was cooler than I expected, and I just wanted something to wear out for dinner with my cousins.

A few years ago, my middle son Jack and I went on a 15 day trip to London and Italy. Heathrow was in the news for record lost luggage at the time, and I wasn’t about to take any chances. I managed to fit everything into a carry-on! 😳 It was tricky, but with good compression cubes and a little outfit planning, it really did work out well.
