Lately, I've had quite a few friends reach out to me asking for help with interior design projects. I love helping them create little, actionable plans to upgrade their spaces. Kind of like DIY decorating!
The funny thing, is that "organizer Suzy" always creeps into these plans a little bit. I can't help it! I really believe that no matter how pretty a space is, it will not make you happy in the long run unless you plan for a space to FUNCTION as well.
The good news is that beauty and utility can coexist beautifully with a little forethought.
Here is an example of an organized entry that fuses the beachy, eclectic decor that I love my top 4 essentials for a highly efficient entry zone.
( I don't have an actual mudroom or even an entry hall... but I designated a corner of my living room to integrate all these tools and I know from experience that these tools work!)
1.| Start with a drool worthy console, like this Cabot Console from @serenaandlily . If you need more storage, opt for a console with drawers or even a dresser.
2.| Top with a cool tray to catch sunglasses and keys. I always like a hit of black in every space, so this one from @h&Mhome is perfect.
3.| Hooks, hooks, and more hooks, please. You can do individual ones or a whole rail. There are a million options out there... pick something you love!
4.| Big, roomy baskets like this @opalhouse version from Target add texture, color, and (most importantly) a zero-effort drop zone to help you keep everyday items like shoes and bags out of sight.
