Castle photo dump 🏰

I’ve always loved places with a bit of history to them. There’s a warmth that comes from old walls, creaky staircases, and details that tell you this place has seen a lot of life before you ever arrived.

@crossbasketcastle felt like a little time capsule. Every corner full of character and care. We spent the days wandering the grounds, eating far too well, and forgetting about emails, deadlines and the rest of the world for a while.

Sometimes a change of pace and a bit of old-world magic is all you need to feel human again.

When date night involves a Michelin-starred chef…

Picked up at the door, treated to an unforgettable dinner, and dropped home again in quiet comfort.

Safe to say @audiuk can plan all of our date nights from now on.

They hosted the evening at @legado_ldn, where chef Nieves Barragán Mohacho crafted an unforgettable menu.
Every detail was considered, from the first course to the final sip of wine.

I don’t think I’ve seen @warrenmeliax this happy in a very long time.

How to make your skirts and dresses work in autumn 🍂

Which look feels most like you - 1, 2 or 3?

A well-curated wardrobe isn’t about the number of items we own, but about how much of the year we can wear them. The more versatile the pieces, the more cohesive and cost-effective our wardrobe becomes, both in terms of space and budget, but also in how consistent our personal style feels.

The key is simply to adapt, not replace.

I like to bring my dresses into the cooler months with black tights. Especially when I’m wearing black pumps. I’ve never quite found the right shade of nude tights; they always seem just slightly off.

A favourite trick of mine is to slip a pair of cashmere socks under high boots. Hardly any skin shows, and with a long coat layered on top, it’s surprisingly warm.

If you don’t feel the cold as much, a soft oversized jumper can be enough - especially paired with a long coat to keep the wind away.

3 looks with black tights

Which outfit speaks to you most — 1, 2 or 3?

The air has turned crisp in the U.K., and with it comes the quiet return of tights season. To keep wearing our favourite dresses and skirts, they become less of a choice and more of a necessity.

I’ve never been fond of nude tights, too artificial somehow. Black, on the other hand, carries presence. They can make a look feel grounded and refined, or heavy and off-balance depending on how they’re styled.

I like the tights to whisper, not shout. To blend, not break. So I match them with black shoes to let the leg line flow uninterrupted. And if I add another shade, I “sandwich” it between two black pieces, keeping the harmony intact.

Do you embrace tights this time of year, or simply brave the cold instead?

They say you should only eat mussels in months that end in -er. 🦪

A little seasonal rule I’m more than happy to follow. It brings back that comforting rhythm of autumn… when the air turns crisp, the coats get heavier, and long lunches outdoors still feel like a treat rather than a test of endurance.

There’s a quiet charm in holding onto these simple rituals. Moules marinière, a bouquet picked up on the walk over, a wool collar pulled high against the breeze.

Nothing extravagant, yet it feels deeply luxurious. The kind of luxury that isn’t loud. It’s just life enjoyed, one beautiful moment at a time while we can still sit outside and pretend winter isn’t quite here yet.

When @leiatheboxer brings full main-character energy.

I’m not the only content creator in my family. My sister @nikolinastenstrom has two very popular dogs back home in Sweden, and trust me… they are fully aware of their fame.

We took them for a walk during my visit, and the contrast was everything: Leia, calm and elegant like she’s posing for Vogue… and Doris, the unapologetic chaos agent who believes every leaf is a paparazzi.

They live right on the water just outside Stockholm. The peace, the views, and two four-legged divas who insist the entire countryside is their runway.

5 things we do not buy in the sales ☝🏻

Sales can be brilliant when used strategically. They’re the moment to secure those pieces that are usually slightly beyond reach - the ones that genuinely elevate your wardrobe.

But to shop well, we also need a clear list of what not to buy:
1.	Items we’ve never considered before.
If it wasn’t on your radar pre-sale, it’s most likely an impulse purchase. Decide your priorities before the discounts begin.

2.	Duplicates of what we already own.
If you already have a version you prefer, the second one will sit unworn. The exception is true wardrobe workhorses like good basics that you go through.

3.	Pieces outside the budget
No discount is worth going into debt for. If you love it, add it to a future wishlist instead.

4.	Items we only like when they’re discounted
If the only appealing thing about it is the price tag, it’s not meant for your wardrobe.

5.	The big-reduction distraction
A great markdown doesn’t make it a great purchase. Use price-per-wear as your decision lens.

Smart sales shopping means staying focused on your style, your needs, and the long-term value of what you bring home.

Have you ever bought something in the sales and regretted it later? I certainly have in my shopaholic days.

Are you making this common fashion mistake?

This simple habit completely changes how you shop and how you get dressed.

Whenever you bring something new home, don’t just hang it straight in your wardrobe. Instead, style it into at least three outfits using pieces you already own and take photos of each look. Save them in an “Outfit Library” folder on your phone.

Next time you’re in a rush or feel uninspired, you’ll have a ready-made album of outfits you know work. It’s one of the easiest ways to build a cohesive, wearable wardrobe.

And here’s the rule: if you can’t create at least three looks with a new piece, it probably doesn’t belong in your wardrobe.

Save this post so you remember next time you buy something new.

A quick visit home to Sweden 🤍

There’s something deeply grounding about returning to where it all began, to the soft autumn light, the quiet fields, and the familiar stories that shaped generations before me.

Walking through the family home, I pause at the portraits and the old family tree, reminders of lives once lived with courage, grace, and conviction. Of pieces passed down, both tangible and unseen.

It’s easy to forget how much of who we are comes from those who came before us. Their values, their sense of style, their way of moving through the world, all still whispering through time.

I feel proud, not of the history itself, but of the continuity, of how the old and the new coexist. Of honouring the past while creating something meaningful in the present.

I flew to Sweden to surprise my sister for her 40th 🎈

Together with @nikolinastenstrom and @marinamontgomery , we lured @s_mnty to @yasuragisweden - the most magical Japanese spa just outside Stockholm.

Hot springs, saunas, cold plunges, champagne in both the pools and the glasses, a beautiful dinner, sound baths, cupping, deep sleep… and so much laughter.

Why is it that my sisters and I have identical senses of humour? We always end up crying with laughter. Every. Single. Time.

Anyone else who has sisters that just get you on another level? ❤️

One of the most valuable lessons in life is learning that everyone will have an opinion - and they’re entitled to it. ☝🏻

But that doesn’t mean you have to make those opinions your own. If you do, you’ll quickly lose touch with who you are.

Knowing when to let opinions in and when to let them pass is an art form in itself.

When it comes to style, my advice is simple: offer a polite “thank you for your input,” and then wear exactly what makes you feel confident.

You are the authority on your own personal style. There are no rules, only what feels right to you.

Is there something someone once told you not to wear that you still love?

A moment of stillness ☕️

Life hums in the background, but here it’s calm. Soft knit, warm coffee, muted tones. A small pause before everything begins again.

I always feel most at ease in quiet tones, gentle structure, thoughtful details, and fabrics made to last.

I would choose to wear this same look for coffee ten times over, rather than ten different outfits that don’t feel like me.

Sometimes elegance is in the art of slowing down - and making more deliberate choices.

ad | Let’s do workwear like a Scandi girl 🇸🇪

As someone born in Stockholm but living in the UK for the past 20 years, I’ve noticed some fascinating differences in how the two countries approach workwear.

When UK women dress smart - they really mean smart. And when they go casual, it’s properly casual.
Swedes, on the other hand, stay somewhere in the middle - smart casual, but in that effortlessly elegant, “I didn’t even try” kind of way.

The style leans slightly preppy, the tailoring more relaxed, and the details are everything. Cuts and quality are impeccable, but never loud.

All the pieces I’m wearing are from @lilysilk , one of my absolute favourite brands. I’ve worn their clothes for years. The quality and cut are consistently beautiful, and no matter if you’re English or Swedish, they will live up to your standards. (Use code “Tess20” for 20% off).

As someone with one foot in each culture, I love both styles and how distinct they are.

Fellow Scandi ladies, do you agree with my observations?

5 styling details elegant women use to elevate their outfits in autumn.

It’s the smallest details that make the biggest difference.

You don’t need a whole new wardrobe, just a few clever styling tricks that transform even your simplest outfit into something special. These are my five go-to accessories that instantly elevate any look.

1.Real leather gloves – Nothing adds quiet luxury quite like a beautifully made pair of gloves. They bring instant polish to coats and knits, while also adding that subtle touch of sophistication.

2. A bangle – One of my favourite ways to style a simple knit. Wear it over your sleeve or glove, or even use it to hold a scarf together. It adds structure and shine in such a subtle way.

3. A brooch – This is my secret weapon. Pin it to your jumper, scarf, coat or hat to add personality and depth. It’s an accessory that feels nostalgic and elegant all at once.

4. A silk scarf – There are so many ways to wear this piece, around your neck, in your hair, tied to your bag or even as a belt. It’s that finishing touch that always looks considered.

5. A wide belt – Perfect for cinching in blazers, trench coats or swapping out a coat belt for something more structured. It defines the silhouette beautifully and brings balance to layered outfits.

Each of these pieces helps you create that intentional, pulled-together feel we all love in elegant autumn dressing without needing to buy anything new.

How to nail that elegant equestrian style this autumn 🐎

I’ve always loved the equestrian-inspired aesthetic. Not just because I enjoy horses and riding, but because it feels classic, timeless and enduring.

It’s a look that moves seamlessly from a weekend in the countryside to a day in the city. Structured yet soft, elegant yet approachable.

For me, the magic lies in the details. The cut of a blazer, the polish of a leather boot, the contrast between crisp shirting and rugged suede. These are the details that make an outfit feel quietly luxurious.

If you’ve been craving a timeless autumn wardrobe update, start here.
One blazer, one pair of classic boots, and one silk scarf and you’ll instantly capture that equestrian charm that never goes out of style.

Save this post as your next autumn outfit inspiration 🤍

The 3 fabrics I always hunt for in the sales 🤍

These materials are timeless, elegant and sustainable - but also some of the most expensive to buy at full price. That’s why I always keep an eye out for them when sale season begins (and even when shopping preloved).

Linen - Lightweight, breathable and full of texture. Perfect for shirts, blazers, trousers and sundresses. I wash all my linen at home and keep a steamer close, since it creases easily.

Silk - My favourite fabric of all. Smooth, soft and luminous. Nothing feels more luxurious on the skin. Some silks can be hand washed, others need dry cleaning, but they all respond beautifully to steaming.

Cashmere - The ultimate wool. Soft, warm, never itchy. It insulates in winter while still being breathable. I wash mine at 30°C with wool detergent and dry flat, a towel on underfloor heating works wonders.

If your wardrobe holds linen, silk and cashmere, you already own some of the most luxurious and sustainable pieces possible.

A week of wearing skirts in autumn 🍂

Which day’s look do you prefer?

Autumn is actually a skirt season,
The trick is all in the styling. Pair your lighter skirts with cosy knits, boots, and rich layers to make them work far beyond summer.

Here are a few ways to keep them chic through the colder months:

1. Balance feminine cuts with structured coats.

2. Swap sandals for knee-high or ankle boots.

3. Play with textures — wool, cashmere, and leather elevate instantly.

4. Add high quality tights for warmth without losing elegance.

A skirt isn’t just for summer - styled right, it becomes a piece not to ignore in your autumn wardrobe.

These are the 5 pairs of shoes I’d invest in first if I had to build my capsule wardrobe again from the ground up. They’re timeless, versatile and cover every season and occasion:

1. Smart white sneakers - The ultimate everyday shoe. They work with denim, tailored trousers, skirts and even summer dresses. Leather feels more elevated, while fabric pairs can be refreshed easily in the wash.

2. Nude pumps - Elegant and seasonless. A nude heel works with every colour palette and feels right year-round. My golden rule for comfort: never go higher than 8.5 cm.

3.Flat knee-high boots - Sleek, practical and incredibly flattering. They instantly pull an outfit together and are perfect once the weather turns cooler.

4. Classic ballet flats - Light, feminine and chic. Ideal for those days when you want polish without heels. I often keep a pair in my bag to swap into at the end of the day.

5. Heeled tall boots – Nothing beats them for leg-lengthening proportions. They’re glamorous, practical for winter nights out, and perfect when you want to feel dressed up but still warm.

These 5 pairs alone will take you through the whole year and almost any dress code, which is exactly what a capsule wardrobe should do: simplify your choices without compromising style.

My #OneItemaMonth purchase in August is….

This incredible oxblood leather cropped trench jacket 👌🏻

At first I was going to skip my August item and save the budget for something more expensive later in the year. However, when I came across this jacket I knew I had to get it.

A cropped trench in leather like this one is a more elegant version of the classic biker jacket.

The texture of the leather will make any look so much more interesting. And the design with the large lapels and collar has a structural quality that makes for a great silhouette.

I can’t wait to style this jacket in my autumn and winter looks!

Price vs Value? ✨

One of the most important distinctions to make when shopping is between price and value.

Price is simple — it’s the upfront cost we all see on the tag. Fixed and the same for everyone.

Value, however, is deeply personal. It depends on your lifestyle, your budget, and how much use you’ll truly get from a piece.

A great way to measure value is by looking at cost per wear. Before buying, ask yourself: how many times will I realistically wear this? Then divide the price by that number.

This is where quality and timeless design matter most. A well-made, classic piece will give you years of wear, while a trendy or poorly made one will cap out quickly - either by breaking or going out of style.

With this approach, you can confidently spend more of your budget on the items that will serve you every day, and less on those you’ll only reach for occasionally.

#ad | 3 key items in my autumn wardrobe 🍁

It doesn’t really matter if I have a lot of clothes in my wardrobe, if I don’t have these 3 things come fall, I will struggle.

Some pieces are just more versatile than others and will be worn a lot more than the rest.

My turtleneck jumper, blazer and coat is all by @selfwhoofficial. I love that the jumper is 100% wool, the oversized fit of the blazer (that button detail!) and the length and built-in scarf of the coat. Truly timeless pieces that will end up with a great Price Per Wear.

Use code “Montgomery” for 15% off or “Montgomery66” for 20% off when you buy 2 items or more.

So if you are going to invest in only 3 pieces for your autumn wardrobe, make it a lightweight 100% wool turtleneck, a blazer to act as a smart jacket when the weather still allows and a long cosy warm coat to hide bare legs under.

Do you have more use for the jumper, blazer or the coat?
