The 5 items I will wear most in October 🍁 Every month I highlight the pieces from my capsule wardrobe that I will lean on a bit extra. As I live in the U.K. we have proper seasons and no month is like the other. October is that lovely in-between time when it’s not super cold and there is no need to completely cover up. But we can still dress in layers and get that really cosy autumnal feel. The oversized turtleneck jumper - such an autumn hero. And here are my favourite ways to style it!

It’s all about the proportions. I always recommend to get at least one size up, so we get the volume.

Then we get the proportions right by tucking in and folding up. This is where the real magic happens.

There are also a few hairstyles that looks extra good with a turtleneck, like the scandi hair tuck, a french pin or a high pony or bun.

…and if you wear it with a popped collar, you will frame your face beautifully and look right out of a fashion magazine.

If you haven’t been to Richmond yet, then this is your itinerary

1. Richmond park - bring some comfortable shoes and take a walk in this magnificent park full of wild deer. It really is something else to see these majestic animals so calm close up.

2. Walk along the river, this is such a romantic spot. Buy a glass of Pimms and sit on the stairs and listen to the buskers play guitar and sing.

3. Catch a theatre production at @richmondtheatre . We saw the very funny “Present laughter”. They have a great number of plays coming up.

4. For sunset head to @thisistowerhouse for cocktails on the terrace overlooking the bridge and the river. Our go-to are amaretto sours.

5. Dinner cannot be missed at the newly opened @scottsrichmond, the sister restaurant to one of the oldest and most prominent seafood restaurants in London - @scottsmayfair . Don’t forget to try their @pomellespritz ✨

…and if you still have time and energy. Don’t miss their rooftop bar.

This is super fun - eBay UK is doing a live pre-loved designer shopping event today at 5pm called “The Endless Runway”. It’s hosted by Raven Smith and is a part of eBay’s live series for Fashion week.

Pre-loved is a great way of pulling an item, that otherwise would be out of reach into our budget.

Do you prefer look 1, 2, or 3?

Not for everyone, but very much for me. I love a pair of leather leggings or trousers. The texture the leather brings to a look. The warmth and structure.

I will wear them from September all the way through to late spring next year.

Summer might be my favourite season to live in, but autumn is by far the best to dress for.

After spending our days in breezy shorts and dresses we get to start adding layers again.

This is the time to really play around with our wardrobes and find new fresh ways to wear what we already own.

As you can see I lean heavily into my caramels, browns, beiges and warm creams. Cosy shades to mirror the changing colour of the nature outside.

Your holiday wardrobe don’t need to mirror the rest of your capsule. I’m personally a lot more colourful on holiday than in everyday life and blue and white is a go-to for me.

So I have a small holiday capsule wardrobe that I come back to year after year.

Some of these pieces I have had for 15 years or more at this point. So even though I don’t get much wear out of them at home, the price per wear is still great.

What a night! The best in a very long time.

@henleyfestival is no ordinary festival (as you might have guessed by the black tie dress code). It’s an absolutely brilliant time and especially if you happen to be invited by @audiuk to their tent where @chefrohitghai was in charge of the food.

Champagne, Michelin-starred meal and so much incredible music! I don’t think I have ever done a singalong like this one ever before. Only all of our English favourites by @alexjameshq 🙌🏻

If there is one weekend not to miss in the English summer social calendar, it’s this one.

The 3 most serious wardrobe mistakes we make.

To prevent number 3, use this quick little exercise -

1. Draw two large circles on a piece of paper. One is for your life and the other is for your wardrobe.

2. In your life circle, divide it in portions (pieces of cake if you will) equivalent to the different parts of your life. Work/family life/ hobbies/ events etc.
Make the size of the piece appropriate to how big part of your life you spend in that role.

3. Do the same in your wardrobe circle, use them same categories, but estimate how big each part is taking up in your wardrobe right now.

4. Compare the circles. Is the piece of the category in your life circle matching the size of that part of your wardrobe circle?

It’s quite common to realise for example that we have a small party slice in our life circle, but a larger slice of party wear in our wardrobe circle.

This exercise will show us exactly where we are over spending and over allocating in our wardrobes compared to our actual lives.

The ideal wardrobe matches each portion of our lives perfectly.
