I’m in my 30s, live on Long Island with my husband Russ — my biggest supporter and believer in all my ideas (even the wild ones) and together we’re slowly turning Casa Cardinal into the home of our dreams. We share our home with Bear, our golden doodle and Murray, our Siamese cat — both are my tiny shadows who supervise every project, every rearranging spree, and every new change I make around the house. By day, I’m a Family Nurse Practitioner. I’ve been a nurse for 10 years, beginning my career in the ICU. Caring for people is woven into who I am. It’s an honor I don’t take lightly, and it has shaped how I move through the world. But when I’m not in scrubs, I pour that same love into my home and my family. I’m drawn to estate sales, thrift stores, antiques with stories, and small beginner DIY projects. I love homes that feel layered, meaningful, and imperfect in the most beautiful way — spaces that hold memories, not just things. My journey with thyroid cancer changed me deeply. It slowed me down, softened me, and taught me to romanticize ordinary days. It was the wake-up call I didn’t know I needed, and I’m grateful to say I’m doing well now.
