If you’re looking for books to engage your middle readers, here are two that my crew enjoyed: 📖 Operation Happy: {Even my 14 year old liked this one!!} A young girl tries to cope with WWII and pressures of family life with her trusty dog, Happy. The book features the dog’s point of view and is inspired by real-life experiences of a young Pearl Harbor survivor. *The book does have heavy content including war, depression, family hardships. We listened to this one on audio and the kids would say can we listen to our book as soon as we got in! 📖We are big fans of @kealbus Nothing Else But Miracles shares a hopeful WWII story about three siblings having to navigating on their own during the war in NYC. This novel embraces the power of community during hard times
