If you’re reading this and thinking “hum, I’m not really sure,” rockstar, I get it. I’ve spent so much time in the last year thinking about my happiness and what that looks like. In the easiest form, it’s laughing until my abs hurt or smiling from ear to ear because of the goodness in life. But, at the core of this emotion, is the daily stuff.

Are the things you’re doing daily really making you happy? Are you sacrificing happiness and joy for money? For status? For a friend that’s sucking the life out of you? When we are feeling sad, stuck, frustrated, it’s so important to evaluate what’s causing us to feel that way.

Friends I encourage you to find what makes you happy and do more of that in your life. Do it for an hour a day, 20 minutes of your day, whatever that looks like for you. For me, I’m trying to stretch and read more because these are things that bring clarity to my mind and that’s what makes me happy. Cheers!

Day 6: My life is awesome 🤘🏼 We went to church this morning with good friends. It was one of those mornings where I wanted to sleep in a little longer, but I got up (somewhat reluctantly) and pulled myself together. 🙌🏼 This morning’s message kicked off a series “killing what’s killing you” and it started with envy. I surrendered, “Okay God. I get it. You needed me to hear this today.” 🙌🏼 Comparison is human nature, but it becomes a problem when we compare to find out who we are and where we fit in based on the possessions and lifestyles of those we follow on social media. 🙌🏼 This year I’m learning to be inspired by those around me, but not to be envious of the lives others lead because I have so much goodness in my life. Here’s how the conversation at night with myself usually goes: “I didn’t do enough today. I didn’t send enough pitches. I’m not making enough money. I forgot to respond to emails. And OMG I forgot I had to post about that.”

I generally forget to remind myself of all that I did accomplish. I rarely say: “Steph I’m proud of you today for taking time to make dinner with Collin.” Or any number of other things.

At least 2 times a week, I get a call from my dad about how proud he is of me and the direction I’m headed. Generally my response is... “Thanks dad. If you only knew all the ways I feel like I’m failing. I’m not proud right now.”

This is something I’m working on... congratulating myself even on the small wins, being proud of the daily victories. So today..
