Every season I discover new masc pieces that work for my style. In spring when it’s still chilly I LOVE windbreakers, rugby shirt, and fun statement crewnecks!

Dry brushing is a daily routine I added in my 30s that I wish I had started earlier. Not only is it a great way to exfoliate your skin, but most importantly it helps promote lymph drainage. To get started just follow look up a quick video on manual lymph drainage and use your brush daily to complete that routine. It takes about 5 minutes and I notice a big difference in my swelling, fluid retention, and most importantly my immune response. The lymphatic system is responsible for moving cellular waste through your body so promoting a healthy lymph flow is an easy way to benefit your entire wellbeing.

I like this specific brush because it is extra soft and doesn’t scratch my sensitive skin!

I always get questions about this little cat vacuum! It a personal desk vacuum and works perfect for clearing my workspace of crumbs, cat hair, etc :)

It took me a few years to find masc fits for fall and winter but I’ve really found what works well for me! I’ve been able to build a capsule wardrobe of basics that then I can pair with a sweater or rugby top that’s dressy enough for work and comfortable enough to actually hang out in all day. For me it looks like:

1) a neutral sneaker like my go to Nikes

2) men’s althletic fit jeans - just trust me, athletic fit really helps accommodate hips and thighs 😉

3) sweaters in basic capsule colors

4) or if I’m feeling more color I LOVE a color block rugby shirt!

I’ve tried about 10 different non toxic dishwasher products and this is my top pick! It has clean ingredients and works AMAZING for us! I tried several clean ingredient products in pod form but ultimately decided after researching micro plastics more that pods weren’t something I was willing to use. When they dissolve they release micro plastics so we’ve switched to powder form only.

NOTE: I would not recommend using this citrus scented version and will be opting for unscented on my next order. The smell is very strong. I will instead add lemon wedges to the top shelf of my dishwasher if I think I need a little citric acid boost 😉

My most recent kitchen swap…organic cotton dish towels! Organic cotton means zero microplastics being shed and that the cotton wasn’t treated with toxic products like pesticides. This is a super cost effective swap and I love that they come in different colors. They are also very absorbent which is a must when it comes to dish towels for me!

I bought this pack of acrylic markers to try out during my 30 days of creating and I’ve really enjoyed them. Think of using an acrylic marker like a mix between painting and drawing. It’s less messy than painting and allows the precision of a pen. I like that these are dual ended providing 2 tones per marker. Overall 10/10 and I would say good for all skill levels!

I’ve been using a tongue scraper for over a year and it’s a cheap and easy way to help remove bacteria and dead cells from your mouth and improve your oral and gut health. I’ve tried about every size and shape out there and this is by far my fave!

My inflammation protocol:

For muscles and nerves that are inflamed I alternate between using ice (I like clay ice packs for weight and even distribution of cold) and a topical of some sort.

- magnesium cream is a fabulous natural way to relax and soothe inflamed muscles and nerves. The skin absorbs the magnesium so I apply it directly to the affected area.

- Voltaren is an OTC arthritis cream that is kind of like a topical ibuprofen. It goes through the skin tot he local area vs swallowing a pill and going through your stomach, liver, etc.

This works slowly over time so you have to be consistent but through the years of trying everything under the sun this is what works best for me! 🫶🏼

Masc Lesbian fall basics 🏳️‍🌈

A few weeks ago Alexa and I took a trip to our local Uniqlo to stock up on some basics as we’re heading into fall and winter here in the Midwest. Uniqlo has been my favorite store for finding basics specifically for layering.

Here’s what you need to know:
• I shop exclusively from the men’s section
• tops I’m a size small
• bottoms I’m a size medium
• I’m 5’6 and typically wear a 10/12 from the women’s section

Bottoms 👖
I specifically was looking for wide legged ankle length pants and picked up two denim and three corduroy options. I can dress the corduroys up for in-office days or dress them down for everyday wear. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE how most of the pant options have a drawstring in the waist. This helps ensure you’re getting the perfect fit every time.

Tops 👕
I refreshed my flannel collection. I’m actually horrified at how old and gross some of my flannels were.

Sweaters 👔
I picked up a new sweater to add to the few I got last year. I like keeping these in rotation because they are great to throw on over a collared shirt to dress up and they are SO COMFY

Making swaps in your laundry routine is an amazing way to have a healthy impact in your home!

Swap:
- laundry detergent (no synthetic fragrance, no plastic pods, etc.), we love Charlie’s Soap
- dryer sheets for organic wool dryer balls
- polyester based garment bags for organic cotton ones to eliminate shedding microplastics (we are just now making this swap)

Let’s talk masc style for fall!

I find the easiest place to start building a versatile fall and winter capsule wardrobe is with a few neutral colored sweaters. I LOVE this unisex one from Uniqlo because it’s not super heavy so I can wear it alone or with a jacket over top. It’s also light enough to wear a collared shirt underneath for a polished work look. I have this sweater in 3 different colors and with each one can make several polished and versatile looks!

I also always get a lot of questions on my silver chains. I’m giving a few options below based on different budget points. I first had the basic ones from Target then Alexa got me the JC Penney ones for Valentines last year for more of a splurge option. Madewell is a great midpoint price wise.

On the hunt for non toxic shampoo and conditioner and so far this is my FAVE! Suds are amazing, ingredients are clean, and my hair feels clean and healthy after. Bonus point, the shape of the bar stands up in the shower and is very easy to apply.
