Thought we might skate through the holidays without getting sick, but yesterday both kids woke up coughing. Here’s what’s been helping us get through it: 1. Detox Bath: • Epsom Salt – Helps relax those little bodies and supports detox. • Bentonite Clay – Great for detox, but it makes the bath slippery. I mix it into a paste first so it doesn’t clump. • Apple Cider Vinegar – Clears congestion (I add about ½ to 1 cup). • Lavender Oil – Calming and antimicrobial. 4-5 drops do the job—if I’m applying it to their skin, I dilute it with a carrier oil. Sometimes I skip the lavender for the kids if I feel like keeping it simple. 2. Cough Syrup: • Thyme + Honey – Soothing and effective. Use raw honey (skip honey for babies under 1). • Simmer 2 tbsp fresh thyme in 1/4 cup of water for 10-15 minutes. Strain through cheesecloth, cool, and mix with 1 cup raw honey. It lasts up to 2 weeks in the fridge. • Dosage: 1 tsp every few hours for kids over 2, 1 tbsp for adults. 3. Red Light Therapy: • Helps with inflammation and boosts overall wellness. 4. Eucalyptus: • Diffuser or diluted for their chest. For the kids, I lean toward cedarwood since it’s gentler. Hope you all have an amazing New Year!
