There’s this weird shame that exists around buying used. Like somehow it means you couldn’t afford the alternative. But the people asking where my things came from aren’t asking because something looks cheap. They’re asking because nothing in my house looks like everything else. You can’t replicate that by shopping new. You just can’t. A room full of things with a history feels completely different than a room full of things that came in a box. And once you figure that out it kind of ruins you for shopping any other way. Estate sales, Facebook Marketplace, the occasional antique store. That’s where so many pieces in my rooms are sourced from. Anyone else used to feel weird about it and now can’t shut up about where everything came from? shopsecondhand estatesalefinds fbmp vintagestyle collectedhome
