I’m 42 and I’ve tried a lot of swimsuits… this is what actually makes the difference: 1. Structure + support > tiny If it doesn’t hold you in, it won’t look good. Period. 2. A good one-piece creates a cleaner silhouette That’s what makes it look more elevated. 3. Defined waist (this is key) Seams, color blocking, or compression at the waist = instant shape. 4. Higher cut leg Instantly elongates. Makes everything look better. 5. Skip the tankini It adds bulk and instantly dates the look. 6. Butt coverage matters Too much = frumpy. Too cheeky = trying too hard. You want that in-between. 7. Texture > flat fabric Ribbed, crinkled, or textured fabric is way more forgiving. 8. Quality over cheap Cheap suits will cheapen the whole look. One good suit > five flimsy ones. 9. Matching layer (sarong, robe, kimono) This is what makes it look expensive. 10. Be careful with cutouts They can quickly cheapen the look if they’re overdone. *One of my most fave bathing suit brands will always be Hunza G. It’s one size fits all and it has texture to it.
