I'm Kristen and I have been sharing beginner friendly beauty tips since May 2020 when I started selling Red Aspen right after graduating from SUNY Oswego with my bachelors of science in biology!

In college, I started experimenting more with high quality AND affordable makeup as I needed some that would last all day from 8am lab through a 11pm hockey practice)! 🏒

As a chemist with a biology background, I am very passionate safe ingredients in beauty products, and how you can also have the same quality results when doing it yourself at home! 🥼🧪

Some other things that I love are plants (hence the theme of the group), the color purple (everything I own is purple lol), traveling, and playing hockey! I currently work as an analytical chemist in the quality control lab for a pharmaceutical company and absolutely love being in the lab! 👩🏻‍🔬

In the last fee years I’ve gained so many amazing new online friendships, been on multiple trips thanks to opportunities I wouldn’t have without posting content, and earned extra cash for more adventures! I’m grateful for every single moment! 🥰

Confidence comes in MANY shapes and sizes…
Sometimes it looks like trying something new, or just hitting “post” (even when you have a bare face and it feels a little uncomfortable).

My confidence has changed so much over time, especially in the last 10 years - lately it shows up in the ways I choose to I step outside my comfort zone and in why I share the things I genuinely love. Whether it’s nails, makeup, or comfy everyday staples like my Truekind bras… It’s all part of me still learning that it’s okay to take up space and not overthink everything.

I was 6 years old the first time a grown man (yes an adult, with children of his own) humiliated me in public just because I was a girl.

It happened again at 10, and again at 12, and every year after.

I have been torn down MANY times in my life and have learned how to come back stronger. I know I am loved, I am worthy, I have empathy, and I am capable. My hope is that this page helps inspire self-love and confidence in other women 💜

The world is not kind to women, especially when we aren’t “feminine” enough or fit perfectly into a category…. I have always loved playing ice hockey and I also love being girly, so I know how it feels. Sometimes I miss having the confidence of walking into the rink in stilettos, and seeing the look on the faces of adults who were angry at a me for daring to take up space. By stepping into the world of beauty, I have gained some of that confidence back and want to help make other women more confident too.

I am an advocate for women’s rights because the women before me fought so I could be out on that ice and share what I love on my platform. There’s still a long way to go, but I’ll always try be the voice I needed when I was a child.
