Think of all those mugs sitting in your cabinet, never getting any use. How about turning them into planters for your house plants? With the right tools and technique, you can turn almost anything into a planter. Drainage holes are absolutely necessary for a plant to thrive. If water can’t escape the pot, the plant will likely rot. Luckily, a drill with a diamond bit can make the perfect hole. The key is to start drilling at an angle, keep the bit and surface wet, and BE PATIENT. Let the drill do the work (don’t add any force or you could break the mug). This hole took about 10 minutes of careful drilling, so patience is key. You can do this!
