Some heirlooms aren’t originally family pieces. They’re chosen…piece by piece, with love. My grandmother started collecting these Homer Laughlin Majestic Brittany plates for me long before I was old enough to appreciate them. She accumulated quite a lot for me! She probably imagined me using them at my wedding, setting a table for a new chapter, the way women before me had done with their fine china. But life unfolded differently. And I truly love the life I have. So instead of waiting for a traditional occasion, I gave them a place where I see them every day. Some on a gallery wall in my dining room, others mixed in with my mom’s Kings Crown Ruby and my grandmother’s Haviland Apple Blossom. Oh, and the pattern? She picked it just for me…her “Brittany.” I think it’s time I set a big banquet table with them and throw a shindig, celebrating the life I have. storykeeperstyle thesentimentaltable • • • • • • • Vintage Decor | Home Inspiration | Collected Home | Traditional Home | Sentimental Style | Curating Joy | The Sentimental Decorator | Joyful Rituals of Home | Sentimental Home | Homes with a Story thesentimentaldecorator sentimentalstyle meaningfulhomedecor
