When it’s next level cold – think wind chill of 10 below (or even colder) – staying warm without compromising style can seem like an unwinnable battle. But, here’s a game-changing tip: wear an ultra lightweight puffer coat or jacket under a more elegant coat. Bonus points if your puffer covers your bum as the added length provides extra warmth!

Thin, soft, and shockingly warm—these Always Warm Base Layers by Varley are the key to staying toasty without bulk this winter.. The crew neck and half-zip options are sleek enough to wear on their own, and the fit is snug-but-not-too-tight with the kind of stretch that moves with you. Think skiing, snowy dog walks, morning coffee runs, or running errands—these layers work hard with minimal effort.

Sizing note: I’m between an XS and Small, and went with Small in both tops so they’d fit just a bit looser and look great when I want to wear them on their own. If you’re in between sizes, I’d go up on this one.
