I didn’t think I’d be playing with worms in my 30s… but here we are 😶🪱 I’ve been trying to find easier, lower-maintenance ways to improve my garden soil without constantly adding more jobs to my list. I do have a giant compost pile, but if I’m being honest, it gets completely neglected because who wants to turn a massive pile of compost on a hot day? 😅 That’s why I wanted to try vermicomposting! The worms do all the hard work for you, and if you build the system directly into your garden bed, you don’t even have to spread the compost afterward, just keep topping it up with kitchen scraps and let nature do its thing 🌱 Of course, the DIYer in me didn’t want to buy one, so I made my own out of terracotta pots instead 😶🙌 it was a super easy project and I love that it’s made from terracotta not plastic! If you’d like to make your own, comment DIY and I’ll send you the supply list, plus a ready-made version for anyone who doesn’t want to drill into pots 🫶
