My younger two felt left out, soooo obviously we had to make valentines for them, too 👧🏼🧒🏼

We melted all of our broken crayons into heart molds, glued them onto leftover Amazon box backing, stamped “you color my world,” and let them go to town coloring the background.

Currently getting me through January ❄️

• Time with Jesus before the kids wake up // I’m currently working my way through Mark and recent got a new study Bible that has totally changed the game for me (done under a heated blanket… obviously)

• 10 minutes of daily house burping // Just learned that’s what it’s called and my kids think it’s hilarious. We open all the windows for fresh air and reset the house.

• Everything must have a place // We purged our entire house at the beginning of this month and omg has it made a difference. If it doesn’t have a spot, it doesn’t belong here.

• Daily movement (+ alone time) // The gym used to feel like punishment, but now I feel like it’s a place whete my brain can finally shut off.

• Sunshine whenever humanly possible // which isn’t much in january when you live in Michigan. But when it’s here, we soak it up. (Pretend you don’t see all the fingerprints on my window)

I made the cutest little keepsake ornament today and I’m absolutely unwell. 🥹😭

I traced my kindergartner’s handwriting onto dissolvable embroidery paper, embroidered over it (first time ever… it shows 😅), and popped it into a brass ornament frame. The sweetest little memory from this year.

I think this is going to be a new favorite tradition for us. 🤎

I moved our kraft paper scroll into the living room and we’re using it as a running “thankful list” for November. After dinner, we each add something from the day. A roof over our heads, an answered prayer, the snack daddy got us at the store, sunshine outside, the bulldozer we saw today… you get the drill 😅

Just a simple way to slow down and actually look for the good that’s happening around us… and help the kids keep gratitude top of mind, too.

I’ve been eyeing that $90 terracotta pumpkin candle from Pottery Barn… then I spotted this glass pumpkin container at the thrift store for $5 and knew I had to make a non toxic dupe.

A little paint + baking soda for that aged terracotta look, some non tox beeswax pellets melted and mixed with my favorite fall essential oils… annnd now it’s giving all the cozy fall vibes. 🍂🕯️

I believe so much of the hate we see in the world starts with brokenness at home. Our families and our homes are where we first learn what it means to love, to forgive, to be kind… basically, how to be human.

Honestly, I don’t even think I realized it before, but I think that might be a big part of what keeps me showing up here… to encourage you to invest in your home and time with your family. Sometimes that’s as simple as a little craft with the kids or a quick DIY project together.
