If wallpaper intimidates you, I promise it’s more doable than it looks. 🤍

I’ve wallpapered a LOT of rooms in our homes over the years, and I’ve definitely learned that not all wallpaper is created equal. There are brands I’ve used that I wouldn’t use again.

So I’m sharing some of the wallpapers and brands I’ve personally used and would recommend.

If you’ve been wanting to try wallpaper but have been nervous to start, save this for when you’re ready!

One tip: If you have textured walls like we do, lightly sand them and wipe them down really well before you start. It makes a big difference!

If you love the look of custom built-ins but don’t love the price, this is one of my favorite tricks. Instead of paying for built-ins, I pushed multiple cabinets together to create one large storage wall—and it completely changed the feel of this room.

The best part? It gives you tons of hidden storage while looking polished, and this trick works in almost any room of the house.

$My husband said, “No more projects…” 😂 But this one was worth it. I found this big planter on sale and turned it into a DIY fountain with a pump, copper pipe, and a hidden 5-gallon bucket inside. We filled the extra space with empty plastic bottles before adding the rocks, which saved us from needing a ton of stone. Then we found an actual fountain on clearance because it was missing all of its internal parts. Since we already knew how to build one, we added new guts to it too… so now we have TWO fountains for a fraction of what we’d have spent buying them new. I pushed two of these wood buffets together to give me eight cabinets of storage in the playroom on our main floor because I could not handle open toy storage!!!
To make these inexpensive cabinets fit with my decor instead of using the wood handles that came with them I got some gold ones that literally stick on from Amazon and before you ask if that will last these have been on here for two years and haven’t budged an inch!

Turns out my pantry has great taste.

I kept the builder-grade wire shelves and made them so much more functional by adding pull-out drawers, clear bins, and a few zip ties instead of ripping everything out. It looks cleaner, it’s easier to find what I need, and it cost a lot less than a full pantry makeover.

For every country concert, you can find me in cut off shorts, a T-shirt, boots and a hat! First step for me is to figure out which boots I’m going to wear so you can see me trying on a couple pairs in this picture.
Then I wear a good country T-shirt in this case it’s the one that says my playlist be like and it shows Post Malone, who I was going to see Willie Nelson, Snoop Dogg, and Dolly Parton 🤠
Keep in mind that I’m 48 years old so these shorts I did get from American Eagle but they’re stretchy you can’t tell they’re stretchy but they’re super comfortable. I have them in back and I also have them in denim for that reason!!
Had to also grab a net back hat and a fan for this heat 🥵

My peel-and-stick wallpaper didn’t work out… and honestly, I’m so glad it didn’t.

Instead, I stenciled this wall, and I actually love the finished look even more. It gave me the look of wallpaper while letting me use the exact same paint color as the trim below, so everything feels cohesive.

A few things I learned:
✔️ Use less paint than you think to prevent bleeding.
✔️ Tape the stencil in place with blue painter’s tape.
✔️ If you have textured walls, use a thicker nap roller.
✔️ Set the stencil on a scrap board or sheet between moves, and wipe the paint off the back before repositioning it.
✔️ Finish all the full sections before cutting the stencil for the edges.

I bought these shelves because I couldn’t decide which size to use…

Funny enough, I ended up using both 😜.

In our movie room, they filled an awkward blank between two oversized prints. I styled one with one of my daughter’s first show ribbons and the other with an antique horseshoe to tie into the horse vibes. She was so proud to see that I used her ribbon 🥇

The second set went above a bathroom toilet, where they display a few meaningful pieces—a china candlestick from my grandmother, a small prayer book, and a few fun accents.

I love finding decor that works in more than one room and gives you a place to display the things that matter most—not just more stuff.

Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve never liked putting on bug spray. I can’t stand the smell, I hate the sticky feeling, and I always want to wash it off the second we get home.

These plant-powered stickers have been such a nice alternative for our family. We simply stick one on clothing or a backpack before heading outside, and they’re easy to pack for vacations, parks, walks, and evenings by the pond.

All I did to make this bookshelf is I held up my arched top mirror from my bedroom and I traced it and then I just painted inside the lines and hung the shelves right over it. I got these shelves on Etsy and then stain them myself so you can match them to whatever is in your kids room.
Then I get a set of the over the door hangers from Amazon, which I also used on the wall in her playroom and then any kind of closet organizer system for A regular closet will help with your floor space! This closet system will also grow with her as her clothes grow.
