Our builders have been genuinely brilliant. Efficient, reliable, and just very easy to have in your space which, when you’re living through a full home renovation, makes such a difference. No chasing, no drama, no attitude problems, no dawdling. Just getting on with it politely and a pleasure to have around. Behind the scenes, the interior design side is moving quickly. Layouts, materials, finishes, all the decisions that turn a 1930s house renovation into an actual home. We’re deep in that phase where moodboards start becoming IRL choices, and I’m very ready to see it all come to life. Part of the benefit of having an architect and interior design led project is knowing all of that is being managed reliably so we can focus on our day jobs. We’re doing this as a real-life, lived-in renovation. Working, parenting, managing budgets, and trying to make smart decisions on things like storage, layout, and finishes that will last. Not Pinterest perfect, but practical, functional, and hopefully still beautiful. Also, balancing a home renovation alongside two jobs each and a child should qualify as a second career or at least a gentle pat on the back!
