This little stretch of fall-perfect weather has me in that very specific October mood where I suddenly want to get outside more, reset the house, and get ahead of everything before November starts moving at full speed.

Packing snacks for a day out with two kids is basically me trying to predict every possible version of “I’m hungry” before it happens.

Today’s bag had MadeGood granola bites, Black Forest fruit snacks, mandarin oranges, string cheese, GoGo squeeZ yogurt, GoGo squeeZ fruit gel and Brainiac fruit + oat smoothies.

Some days they eat everything. Some days I apparently packed a traveling pantry for no reason.

Motherhood got a little lighter when I stopped believing that harder automatically meant better.

I can love my babies deeply and still use the things that make mom life easier. I can protect time for my marriage. I can leave room on the family calendar. I can serve the easy lunch. And I can appreciate an ordinary Tuesday without feeling like I need to turn it into more.

Because intentional motherhood isn’t about doing everything. Sometimes it’s choosing what matters, using the shortcut, and being present enough to enjoy the season you’re actually in.

The travel hack that officially retired our airport stroller.

We originally bought these ride-on suitcases hoping they would make traveling with two young kids a little easier, specifically for when I travel alone with them and now we refuse to fly without them.

The kids can push their own luggage when they’re feeling independent, then sit down and ride when those little legs get tired. That means fewer “carry me” requests, less chasing through the airport, and one less bulky stroller for us to drag through security and worry about at the gate.

We loved them so much that we reordered them from Walmart because, at this point, they are part of the family travel crew. Watching MJ and SJ roll through the airport with their own suitcases might be cute, but the real win is how much easier they make travel days for us.
