My 4th and final one for this year (parts 1 & 2 were last year). I hope these help! As always, my recommendation is to have that bunny buy things you are already going to buy for warmer months! Water toys, warmer clothes, swimsuits, road trip entertainment, sports balls, chalk, bubbles, etc.

Do we love this toy? Absolutely.

Is it perfect? Nope. But, what toy is!

I hope the pros and cons list help! Biggest things to consider are
•Rhe age you're buying for (I think if it's a kid over 5, I'd look more at the Yoto).
•And the reason you're buying. If it's for independent play, this will be harder for younger kids (due to operating features like inserting cards & focusing) and I'd look at the Tonie Box.
•BUT, if you just want it to use a bedtime or when you can sit and play too - it's great! We've loved using it for stories at bed & it continues to be a hit for that!

Whew! A lot of info. Do we like the Toniebox? Yes! My 2 year old uses it daily. But, TBH, I kind of bought my Toniebox blindly. I knew a little, but not a ton. And while it's been a hit & is used quite a bit, I wish I had known more just to fully understand how it functions . The biggest thing for me, was the character voices not matching the movie voices! It caught us all off guard. Again, my toddler didn't mind, but my older kids and I definitely noticed 🤣

Here's my list:

🌟Pros:
•Very kid friendly. Little hands can put Tonies on easily due to being magnets.
•Great for young kids! I personally recommend for ages 2-6. Tonies recommends for 3+.
•Durable with squishy sides
•Fun characters and figurines to collect (characters make great birthday or Christmas gifts or rewards for kids to work towards)
•Tonies are easy to store at home: on a magnetic shelf or just in a bin or tote
•Movie/show characters, clever (educational) Tonies, or creative Tonies (record your own/loved one up to 90 min)
•7 hours of battery life
•Sold on Amazon, Target, Walmart, & their website
•Bundle options are often available to save on pricing

🌟Cons
•Harder to change songs, no real pause feature
•Tonie character voices don't always match movie voices
•A little big to take on the go + Characters can fall off easily
•Tonie characters can cost up to $20. So, not cheap if you lose them
•Look like toys (which is a pro & a con). My toddler likes playing with them, but they often get misplaced with other toys. I try to keep them separate when storing. They do have a Tonie symbol on the bottom to help identify.

Stay tuned for my Yoto mini review! It's another great option that's stolen my heart, especially for kids 5-6 and up!

Whew! A lot of info! But, that's just it. I'm giving you the info & you can form your own opinions. When I see 5 second videos on IG about products,I tend to have questions about what went on behind the scenes. 🤔. Call it a personality flaw or maybe a strength, but as a mom, I hate getting things that don't pan out to be what I thought I were. So, welcome to my new series: What to know before you buy!

Did I hate any of this options? Absolutely not! But, I was fairlyfrustrated with the plugs on the collapsible table. When I pay that much for something, I want it to work!

My rankings:
1. Water table cover: Solely because I HATE cleaning out gunk from the water table. You can leave water in it over night to get multiple uses out of it & the cover stops the debris from blowing in. Plus, the clips on the bottom that attach to the legs are 🙌🏻🙌🏻

2. Tabletop water table: I see lots of uses for this all year long for inside or outside play!

3. Collapsible water table: I love the concept of this, but those dang plugs! 1 plug was fine, but the other was not. I removed & resealed it & it no longer popped open. BUT, it had a slow leak (1 drop every few min - which isn't horrible). Most reviews are VERY positive online, but some do complain about the plugs. It does store SO nice! Weigh the pros and cons for you. Maybe I got a lemon 🍋

If you like to take card games with you on the go, this is the way to do it! But also, the way to do it to store them at home too! You can have them organized & not be worried about cards falling out once the box is destroyed

Ohhhh boy....do I love some storage that actually works 🤘🏻

You know those spaces that are just pain points? The ones that stress you out when you look at them? My linen closet & under my sink were 2 of those. These simple drawers changed 'em both for me! And if they can keep those spaces organized for over a year... then they're worth every dang penny .

My friend told me about these babies after she saw them shared somewhere. For the past month, they have been hanging on the back of all my kids' closet doors. And, I sure love 'em.

In my toddlers shared room, they serve a more functional purpose in separating their stuff and saving space. In my bigger kids' rooms, they hold their knick knacks and get them off the dressers. It allows them to have their stuff in a special place, but keeps the clutter off the dressers.(I notice my son did start storing his winter hats and sports socks in his too)

SALE: $10.50 BOY SHORTS AT OLD NAVY! My neighbor, who has 3 boys, says these are her favorite shorts for boys in the summer! And they haven't disappointed. Quick dry and light weight (great for heat or if they get wet), elastic waist band, drawstring, AND hit right above the knee (which is a dang cute length!)

Look, I will 100% be putting candy in the Easter Eggs, but my kids think it's pretty fun to find a few "special eggs" in the hunt each years. All of these "egg-tra" prizes are relatively cheap, fun, will get played with, and will fit in the smallest plastic eggs (I tested them for ya 😉)

But, the real question is: what's the best Easter candy: Cadbury eggs or Reese's PB eggs?!

NO CRAP Easter baskets! (Remember no crap stocking stuffers?!) Our Easter baskets usually have USEFUL things related to spring/summer in them! Swimsuits, sandals, goggles, and a small outdoor toy or pool toy option.

All of these options have worked out great at our house: bath, water tables, splash pads, pools, beaches, or vacations. They all easily fit in a pool bag or...an Easter basket 🐰

And that seek and splash game? The biggest hit of them all! If you're competitive at all, you may be surprised how much adults can get into it too 😜

This bag has saved us so many times when we travel! We're on vacation and a kid spikes a fever in the middle of the night or wakes up with an ear ache, bee stings & mosquito bites that inevitably happen on outdoor trips, scrapes, cuts, or kids that are a little backed up 💩 (which always seems to happen on vacation 🙃) Enter this bag, probiotic drops, Motrin, bee sting/mosquito bite packets, garlic ear drops (they are incredible), or swimmer ear drops. Little things that can make a big difference & save you from trying to track them down when you're on vacation somewhere you are not familiar with.

Some items change trip to trip pending where we're going or for how long.

I am NOT a road trip expert, but I've done many a trips with my young kids and I am here to tell you less is more! IF you set your kids up with EVERYTHING you think they'll need to be entertained the whole trip (thinking they'll then leave you along for the road trip), then you're setting yourself up for failure. In my experience, my kids but through emerging QUICK and the you're stuck.

I keep a "boredom" bag up front that I will slowly pull activities put of ONE at a time. I try to make each activity last as long as I can. Of course we use iPads and @yotoplay_us players, music, & audiobooks, but even after a while my kids are bored with those.

Activity ideas:

•Water wow books
•Stop watches: time distance between McDonald's, how long it takes to go a mile, how long can you be quiet (my favorite 😜)
•clickers : count the number of a specific color car (each kid can count a different color), count semis, cows, etc.
•dry erase markers: great for older kids to write on windows, play games on the window, & easy to wipe up
•paper chain countdown: make a chain for each hour of the trip & take it off after each hour that passes. This is a great visual for kids with little concept of time

Road trippin' ain't easy as a parent, but we got this! 👊🏻

Usually we're rushing out the door & the last thing I'm searching for is something to help entertain my kids. This simplifies that. The work is already done. Just find the bag I want & go! We store ours in wire bins in a cabinet that everyone can access.

I love that the bags are clear (so we can all see what's inside), have 2 zipper pouches per bag (hold multiple activities or separate activities out), & have a handle!

PART 2. Raise your hand if you don't want crap in your kids' stockings 🙋🏽‍♀️ . I'm tired of the crap. Ready for the things that are fun & get used 👊🏻

I've done painted pumpkins many times, but never have I tried this until now! It's little to no mess & easy for kids to do. I was pleasantly surprised with how well it worked & how much my kids enjoyed it!

🌟 TIPS
-Do this on a tray or mat because water can drip from the sponge or paper towel
-Have a trash bag close by to put all the tattoo wrappers in
-Make sure the spot you put the tattoo on is completely dry before you add the tattoo
-Hold the sponge or paper towel on for at least 30 seconds before peeling off. We found just pushing worked, you don't have to wipe it around.
-Glow in the dark ones glow, but need "charged" in the light first!

I love a good floating witch hat, but I wanted to switch it up this year & did flying skeletons! I love how they turned out. They spin in the wind and appear to be flying! I used Trader Joe's cinnamon brooms & 24 inch posable skeleton.

How cool is this?! Such a great tool for parents and practical for anyone working with kids on handwriting with letters or numbers. They also have speciality ones for math and music are also really cool options! This size is the 3/4 inch dashed roller. It's the only one I've personally tried, but the other options are worth checking out!

I reached out to Legiliner and they said this about how long the ink lasts:

'Depends on the size of the barrel (which LegiLiner you have) and how much you use it. Small ones are 3-6ish months. Medium ones are about a school year'

These showed up & saved the first day of summer vacation for my 4 and 6 year old! You can get pack of 4 for $12. So, are they THE BEST quality toys - no, but they do the job! They're great at home or on the go, have tons of possibilities & can work on several developmental skills (fine motor, open ended play, & problem solving).

I recommend these for ages 3+ in case the suction cups come off (Use your best judgment to avoid giving to kids who still put a lot of things in their mouth)

Our art cart has been going strong for 2 years! I love it (and so do my kids). If our kids want to craft at the table - we wheel it over. They want to craft at the counter - wheel it over. Outside? We wheel it on the deck.

Now, if you have younger kids who you don't trust to have constant access, wheel it behind closed doors to store or be selective about what you store on it.

I often take the lazy Susan off the top & store it on a higher shelf so my 2 year old can't access it. Scissors also get stored off the art cart at our house 👌🏻

I had NEVER heard of this! I ordered a Christmas packet a while back & once we tried it - we were hooked! There's also animal packets, princesses, space, dinosaurs, unicorns, & more! This would be a great activity for colder months (I know we will be doing it!)

🌟 TIPS
•Be sure to press down everywhere on the foil sheet once it's covered the sticker. We pushed down with our full hand and then used our finger to run it all over the sticker in order to get the best coverage.
•Foil sheets can get multiple uses. If you use one to only color a small section of sticker, save it & use up the rest on another small area.
•Recommended for ages 4+ (and I'd agree with that)

Wet/dry bags are used year round at our house, but especially in the summer! They're perfect for wet swimsuit, blowout clothes, or accidents. You can keep a dry change of clothes in the front pouch and store your wet ones in the waterproof area. Toss the whole thing in the wash to clean!

Kraft paper is the gift that keeps on giving I tell ya! It's one of the most versatile supplies I have. After the big success I had with the Kraft paper gingerbread man, I had to let the good times roll & see how it would go with an Easter egg 🐰. Success!

Tips:
🌟 The more variety of art supplies you give your kids the better! They'll stay entertained longer.
🌟 My son and my daughter both loved this one! If you think "my kid won't do this" see below for tips to spice it up!

Tips:

Grade up:
•Add a motor component. Have your kids do 10 jumping jacks or ball bounces every time they changed art utensils. (I.e. they got from a marker to a crayon)
•Put art supplies on the other side of the room. When they want a new one, they have to bear crawl, roll, dribble a ball, etc to get to them
•Instead of you drawing the designs, have your kids create the designs inside the egg before coloring them in

Grade down:
•If this is too overwhelming or too big for you kid, then give them a bunch of smaller eggs on a smaller sheet of paper and have them individually decorate each one
•You draw the designs inside the egg to give your kids a more clear idea of what to decorate
