I never expected to hear a sermon called "Starving for God, but Settling for DoorDash." 😳

And honestly... I couldn't stop thinking about it.

For so long, we've separated our spiritual health from our physical health and our mental health as if God only cares about one and not the other...as if He hasn't created all of us for His glory.

But Scripture paints a much bigger picture.

Jesus calls us to love God with all our heart, soul, mind... and strength...AND love our neighbor as ourself. (Mark 12:30-31)

Caring for our bodies isn't about chasing perfection or earning God's love. It's about stewardship. It's about having the energy to love our people well. To serve others well. To walk in the purpose God has for us. And above all we know even though our bodies are wasting away, our souls are forever...first and foremost your attention MUST be on your spiritual health as the foundation.

This conversation is exactly why I wrote The Sunday Reset. 🤍

One of the biggest things that simplified healthy eating for me was realizing I don't need 50 different protein sources.

I need about 5 that I can count on week after week and ALWAYS have on hand!

The truth is, healthy eating gets easier when you stop reinventing the wheel.

That's why I keep these protein staples on repeat:

1️⃣ Tuna - one of my favorite grab-and-go protein sources. I keep it stocked at all times.

2️⃣ Eggs 🥚 - scrambled, hard boiled, over easy... one of the easiest and most affordable proteins out there.

3️⃣ Nonfat Greek yogurt - high protein, versatile, and easy to throw together on busy mornings.

2 years ago, if you said “peps” to me, I probably would’ve immediately thought 💉.

And I think that’s still where a LOT of people’s minds go.

But once I started learning about peps, I realized there was a whole conversation I had been missing.

I wasn’t looking for another extreme.

I wasn’t looking for something that required me to completely overhaul my life.

And I definitely wasn’t looking to chase a number on the scale at the expense of actually feeling good.

I wanted to support my body.

That’s what made me curious about the natural pep route in the first place.

And then I started seeing what consistency could actually look like.

For me, it has been changes in my body composition, yes. But also my mindset, energy, cravings and the way I feel showing up in my everyday life.

That’s why I am going to keep talking about this.

Not because I think everyone needs to do exactly what I do.

But because I think women deserve to know there are options and understand what they’re choosing.

Jesus talked about anxiety more than we often realize. ✝️

And one of His solutions was surprisingly simple.

He pointed to flowers. 🌸 How they grow underground first.
Unseen.
Unnoticed.
Without striving.
Without hustling.
Without constantly wondering if they’re doing enough. 🌱

And Jesus told us to pay attention.

“Consider the lilies...”

Not because flowers are the point... because trust is.

Maybe the peace we’re chasing doesn’t come from controlling every outcome. Maybe it comes from remembering who is already in control. 🙌

One of the biggest lessons I've learned from my 15+ years meal planning is healthy eating starts with grocery shopping.

If your kitchen is stocked with nourishing foods, healthy choices become easier all week long.

That's why one of the first steps in my Sunday Reset is taking inventory, meal planning, and making sure our home is stocked with foods that support our goals.

Think of it this way:
You aren't just buying groceries.
You're creating the environment that future-you will live in all week.

I aim for around 💯 grams of protein each day to support muscle, energy, recovery, and healthy aging.

But here's the secret... I don't try to "catch up" on protein later.

I put one of my biggest rocks in first thing in the morning. 👏🏼

🔥 My 50G Protein Breakfast 🔥

🍳 3 scrambled eggs
🧂 Real salt + @eatpluck
🧀 Cottage cheese stirred into eggs (trust me on this one 😅)
☕ Protein coffee shake (@flavcity is a current favorite protein powder)
💦 Water + Make Hydrated + Fit + 1 Lean Pill + a pinch of real salt

This simple breakfast gets me nearly halfway to my daily protein goal before the day has a chance to get chaotic. Healthy habits become easier when you stop leaving them to chance.

Because by 3 PM, when the schedule is packed, your energy is low, and someone forgot their cleats... You'll be grateful you fueled your body well at breakfast. 😅
