Funny how we're quick to try the next fad... but hesitate to try something because of what people might think.

That's almost what happened to me.

Here’s the problem...👇🏻

Too many people (gulp...especially Christians) view healthy living as JUST vanity & weight loss! 🙊

But it’s soooo much more! We are caring for the temple God gave us, a home for the Holy Spirit. 🤯

One thing I unpack a lot in my book The Sunday Reset is how so many in the church think that you shouldn’t be so focused on your physical health... & somehow think it has NOTHING to do with your overall wellbeing (mind body AND spirit!)

But yet at the same time, those same believers are focused on & struggling with preventable disease, cardiac issues, being able to keep up with their kids, diabetes, obesity or being malnourished, body image, lack of confidence, lack of energy, addiction, opting for short cuts in their health that actually waste AWAY their muscle with fat & have many side effects. 😫😫😫

If you’re worried about those extra 15 pounds you’re hanging on to but you’re not worried about addressing the constant cycle of anxiety you’re stuck in, isolation from Biblical community, or “never having time for God’s Word”, there’s some space to grow deeper here too. And yes, I still struggle daily as well! #humanprobs 🥴 Thank you Jesus that your mercies are new every morning!!

Anyone else or just my kids?!? 💸😅

The Brown house occasionally takes on a $40/week grocery budget challenge.

Is it glamorous? No.

Does it mean leftovers, random pantry meals, and suddenly deciding that food we "don't like" is actually pretty good? Absolutely. 😂

But one thing it's taught us is how much money (and food) we waste when we don't have a plan.

That's one reason meal planning is such a big part of my Sunday Reset.

A few minutes spent planning meals each week saves us money, reduces stress, cuts down on food waste, and keeps us from staring into the fridge wondering what's for dinner at 5:00 PM.

It’s probably apparent by now that I think a little differently. 🤍

I care deeply about physical health but I don't believe physical health is the whole story.

You can lose the weight and still feel anxious.
You can eat clean and still feel exhausted.
You can hit your workout goals and still feel disconnected from God.

Because true health isn't just about your body.

It's about your mind, your body, and your spirit.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned over the years is that when one area is suffering, eventually the others feel it too.

Not another diet.
Not another health trend.

I am working towards red light on my phone screen at night, putting my phone away and on DND more, taking Sundays off as much as possible from my phone and giving up my smart watch except for rare occasions.

😂 Why does the weekend somehow come with MORE pressure than the work week just with different clothes on?!

Deep clean the house.
Get groceries.
Fold the laundry.
Spend quality time with the kids.
Go to church.
See friends.
Meal prep.
Take care of yourself.
Magically become a new person by Monday.

No wonder we're exhausted.

This is exactly why I started doing a Sunday Reset. So I could stop feeling like I had to do everything.

A good reset helps you identify what actually matters this week and let go of the pressure to do it all.

Because the little things we do over and over become our rhythms and our rhythms are shaping our health, our homes, and what our kids see as "normal."

Just give me enough notice to plan my outfit. 😘

For years, I thought being "healthy" meant becoming more restrictive.

Less fun.
Less spontaneous.
Less life.

What I've learned instead is that true health gives you MORE life.

More energy for friendships.
More capacity for adventure.
More margin for what matters.
More ability to show up fully for the people you love.

That's actually one of the biggest messages behind The Sunday Reset book.
