Southern Buttermilk Pie 🥧 Southern Soul Food Series | Part 4 🤍 One of the most underrated Southern desserts there is. With a rich, buttery custard filling and a flaky pie crust, this old-fashioned recipe has been passed down for generations for good reason. What You Need: 3 large eggs ½ cup buttermilk 1 tsp vanilla extract ½ cup butter, melted and cooled 1 cup sugar 1 tbsp cornstarch ½ tsp salt 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie crust To Make: Preheat your oven to 350°. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, buttermilk, and vanilla until smooth. Next, whisk in the sugar, melted butter, cornstarch, and salt until completely combined. Pour the filling into the unbaked pie crust. Bake for 55 minutes, or until the center is just set and the top is lightly golden. Let the pie cool completely before slicing. I like to serve chilled!! SO decadent!
