I love the idea of a whimsical, hands-on, supplement filled education, but the only way it is possible for my capacity is to choose intentionally. Some subjects are plain easy to bring to life with art projects, documentaries, and all the extras, and then some subjects are simply plain. I actually really appreciate those subjects (i.e., grammar and spelling) because they allow me to curate a well balanced homeschool day. One of my favorite no frills needed homeschool curriculum is Fix It Grammar. We have used it successfully for all 3 of my kids for years. The newer updated version is amazing! We use it 4 days a week for 5-10 minutes a day. It is efficient, simple, and truly open-and-go.
