I used to wonder how people could keep going. Smile so soon.
Choose joy when the world said they shouldn’t. And then loss walked into my house.

And I understood.
You don’t move on.
You move forward.

And those two things are not the same.

Moving on says you left them behind.
Moving forward says you’re carrying them with you.

People see her pick things up quickly and call it talent…although it is, what they don’t see is the years behind it.

She’s been dancing with @eyriedanceandtumbling_llc (EDT💕) since she was 7.
Long practices. Repetition. Confidence built one step at a time.

And her Dad?
He was her biggest fan. Her dance Dad.

Sitting and making it through every performance, cheering her on like she was the star every single time. 🥹

So when the theater director said she was a “quick learner”, I smiled with tears in my eyes.

Because she didn’t just learn fast.

I don’t talk about my big boy too much.
Teenagers live in their own world.

But my mama sent me his drawings from third grade.
And seeing how much he’s grown… how his talent has evolved…
I’m so proud of him.

And still, it’s bittersweet. 🥺

Because he used to draw with his dad.
He used to run and show him every picture.
So excited. So proud.

Now I get to watch him grow into something he loves and his dad isn’t here to see it.

That’s the kind of grief that doesn’t scream.
It just sits in your chest.

Proud mama.

Week 2 of meal prepping and I already knew one thing…we were NOT doing chicken and ground beef again 😂

So we switched it up:
✔️ cabbage + sausage
✔️ salmon + zucchini + bell peppers
✔️ shrimp + bell peppers + green beans

Now let’s talk bell peppers 🌶️
AJ doesn’t like them cooked, but raw? He’ll eat every single one.

That’s why there are two meals with bell peppers, because meal prepping only works if your kids will actually eat it.

Everything came out amazing (duh 😌).
The fridge is stocked.
And the week just got a little easier.

Y’all, I’m really trying to build better habits, not just in the gym, but after the gym too.

I realized real quick that if I don’t eat after my workouts, I’m basically wasting the effort I just put in. And I’m not working this hard just to sabotage myself later.

Normally I’d grab coffee and keep it moving, but coffee will have you skipping meals and calling it discipline 😅

So instead, I came home, cooked, and moved in something comfortable that actually supports my body.

Consistency over perfection. This is the year I get it right…for real. 💪🏾💙

Some mornings really do feel like a miracle in motion. Pans sizzling, kids all over the place (Linkin), someone stealing a bite off a plate and my big boy right beside me helping breakfast come together.

Chaotic? A little.
Beautiful? Absolutely.

Moments like this are why I’ve been so intentional about creating a kitchen that feels calm, safe, and functional, especially on the loud mornings.

I never imagined this many little feet running through my kitchen, or that it would ever feel like home again, but somehow we fit. Somehow this life fits.

Watching my son step up in some of the ways his Dad used to hit a tender spot. Grief leaves gaps you don’t even have words for and then joy shows up in the smallest, loudest, messiest ways to fill them.

This is what it looks like when grief and joy walk side by side; loud, imperfect, full. And even here, even now, there’s room for joy to find us. 💙

Here’s to the slow, messy, precious moments that keep us going.
