Once the conference began, there was definitely a lot more work for Eric, a little work for me, and a whole lot of me trying to figure out how to keep this little corner of the internet running with very questionable Wi-Fi and cell service. I won’t pretend that didn’t stress me out a little with campaigns and deadlines waiting on me, but in a funny way, it also forced me to unplug more than I normally would. Difficult? Yes. Probably good for me? Also yes. 😂

And we still managed to squeeze in some really good moments in between it all. Walking the breakwater at the Samoset resort, conference dinners, French onion soup TWICE on this trip, and Eric basically living his best life every time he spotted something worth pulling the car over for. 📸

And because I know somebody will ask about the clothes… I mixed a LOT of things I already owned with a few newer pieces I got on the trip. My blue cashmere crewneck is an older Quince favorite (they have this style every year), the floral skirt and boots are Walmart, my chairman’s dinner sweater set is Amazon with my Ruti pants (which I’ve also linked my favorite Amazon look for less versions), the sherpa jacket I wore on the breakwater is L.L.Bean and I actually bought it while we were there, and those black/navy ankle pants you kept seeing are my G4Free Amazon favorites. The LAKE sweatshirt is from Boathouse at Disney Springs, and the denim is from Just Black Denim. I’ve tried to link everything possible for y’all, but if you don’t see it, it’s probably older. 🤍

I’m still learning how to do this job while traveling—how to meet deadlines, actually experience where we are, share some of it with y’all, and occasionally put the phone down and just be there.

This is exactly the kind of top I’m always looking for this time of year. Cute enough that I feel put together, comfortable enough for an everyday outfit, AND I could absolutely have worn this when I was still teaching. 🙌🏻

The little ruffle collar is what got me. It makes a simple button-down feel just a little more special, and I love it tucked into jeans with a belt and a jacket thrown over it.

And y’all… UNDER $30 on Amazon + 12 colors. You know that means I’m already trying to decide which color I need next.

I was just running in for a quick errand, but this outfit was too good not to share. I kept looking over my shoulder hoping nobody I knew rounded the corner. 😂 If you're local and happened to catch me filming in the middle of Walmart... let's just keep that between us.

This Amazon set has that buttery-soft, elevated feel we all love. The quarter-zip is so flattering, the pants have a real drawstring and pockets (always a win), and it looks so much more expensive than it is. It comes in 15 colors, sizes XS–XL, and I'm wearing the medium for reference.

Okay, y’all… I was NOT prepared for this box. ✨ This was such a pinch-me moment for me. @julievos sent me the most beautiful box of jewelry, and I opened it without knowing what was inside—which I think you can probably tell by my reactions.

The earrings might have just become my new everyday pair, the mother-of-pearl pieces are absolutely STUNNING, and then I opened a piece I’ve wanted for the longest time. I mean… COME ON!!! 😍

I love jewelry that makes an outfit feel finished without having to think too hard about it, and these are exactly those kinds of pieces. Beautiful with jeans and a sweater, but just as pretty dressed up—and y’all know I’m always going to love a little dangle and a good toggle clasp.

We’re in Maine for Eric’s work conference, and while he’s working, I’m taking full advantage of getting out and exploring a little. And apparently sightseeing required an entire outfit decision.

But I have to say… this may be one of my favorite easy fall outfits lately. A simple black sweater, wide-leg jeans, pops of leopard with the loafers, and a belt. Comfortable enough for walking around all day but still pulled together enough to make me feel like I tried. And at 56, THAT is pretty much exactly what I want from my clothes.

Fall day look in Maine

A little peek at real life lately. 🤍

We’re actually in Maine for a work conference, but with the nor’easter headed toward the Northeast, we decided to come in a couple of days early rather than take our chances with travel. We’ve definitely been battling some rain since we got here, but the fall colors did NOT disappoint. 🍁

When Eric travels for his work, he almost always brings his camera. He’ll get up early in the morning, head out and see what he can find while I’m usually still asleep. 😂 This time I’ve tagged along for some of it, and Maine has given him plenty to photograph.

So the last couple of days have been a little rain, a LOT of beautiful fall color, random stops because Eric spotted something he wanted to photograph, me bundled up in more layers than I expected, a few OOTDs because apparently I cannot help myself 😂… and, of course, the turkeys. 🦃

Most of the time when we travel, you see the outfit, the try-on, the conference or the finished reel—but there’s a whole lot of regular life happening in between all of that.

The reality is, I forget to share that part with y’all. 🤍 And honestly, it’s usually some of my favorite stuff.

Y’all… I was just minding my business walking through Walmart and then I found THIS. It’s Scubaknit, it’s SO soft, and those little ruched ties on the sides?! Yes please. 🙌🏼

The top is only $16 and there are matching bottoms too! The shorts I found in store are already getting picked over, BUT online there are several Scubaknit options—including regular shorts and joggers if biker shorts aren’t your thing. And honestly, I love that because you can make the set work for YOU.

This is exactly the kind of comfy set I want for running errands, traveling, lounging… all the things. And it looks way more expensive than Walmart prices.

The Frank & Eileen Patrick Popover Henley has that perfectly relaxed, effortless look that so many women love… but it also comes with a $238 price tag.

So of course I had to go hunting for a more affordable option.

I found a very similar version on Amazon for $37.99, and honestly… it gives the same easy, slightly oversized feel that makes the Frank & Eileen shirts so popular.

Y’all… THE necklaces are back. 😍 And somehow I think I love this new version even more.

If you’ve been here for a while, you know these multi-strand necklaces from The Willow Tree were one of my MOST asked-for links last year and into this year. They brought back some of my favorite colors, but changed the design with an adjustable length and a new clasp, and I am OBSESSED. 🙌🏼

And then they went and sent me an entire box of fall things that feel so me. The suede fringe vest is giving me all the western fall vibes, the dark wash jeans are SO soft and stretchy with the best waistband, that brown blouse gives me such a Tuckernuck look for less, and can we talk about the leopard Bermuda shorts?! 🐆

This is exactly why I love The Willow Tree. They just GET IT.

This Walmart dress has NO business being this good for the price. 😍 Honestly, I would guess it cost 3x what it actually does.

The Manolo Blahnik Maysale mules are gorgeous, 100% suede and $950. But when I found this look for less on Amazon for $51, you know I had to compare them.

The Amazon pair is faux suede, so no, we are not pretending they’re the exact same shoe. But the pointed toe, buckle detail, kitten heel and overall look are pretty darn close for an $899 difference.

And here’s something I actually love about the Amazon pair: they come in whole AND half sizes and 6 colors. The Manolos come in 10 colors, but only whole half sizes.

For $51? I’m saving. 😂
