I liked this one but did not overall love it. It was too much of a slow burn for me. After finishing I found myself really confused but I think that it is more of a me problem than a book problem. Sometimes when listening on audio I find myself zoning out if I am not completely hooked from the start. I went into this one really excited to read it because I enjoyed this authors other work. I did not quite connect with the characters and the plot as much as I had anticipated or wanted to. I think a lot of readers are going to love this one unfortunately it just was not my favorite.

Some positives of the book was the setting and the atmosphere. I really felt the atmospheric thriller vibe throughout the entire book and even had myself looking over my shoulder a bit or feeling claustrophobic while some of the plot and setting were being described.

An atmospheric and twisty thriller/mystery about trauma, secrets, family, and friendship. Multiple missing girls and a prominent family at the heart of what went wrong. Find out how our main character Audrey a search-and-rescue expert uses her skills of survival knowledge of an age old legacy of all of the girls before.

I’ve seen the movie more times than I can count and have even seen the musical live but never read the book until now. I know I’m as shocked as you are!

This is a classic and beautiful love story. It is a story whether you read it, watch it, or live it that you must hear in your lifetime.

Noah and Allie’s love story is one of my favorites and I hope this story gets told over and over again for years to come.

I went into this thinking it was a thriller but it ended up being more of a mystery / literary fiction read which I overall enjoyed. Once I lost the mindset that this was a thriller I stepped into the story that was a mystery wrapped in a love story. The characters were lovable and relatable. I really connected with them and absolutely loved the podcast tie in to the book.

Best friends Benny Abbott and Joy Moore host a beloved podcast together every week. They talk stories of survival and near death experiences. Their latest survival story may turn into one of their own when Benny shows up at Joy and her husband’s home and finds signs of a break in and a missing Joy and husband.

A story of love, friendship, and mystery wrapped in a nice bow. I recommend this one on audio and I am so excited for another great debut for us readers!

🌟MY FIVE STAR READS OF 2025🌟

I read 226 books in 2025 and of those 226 books only 20 were five star reads

These books blew me away and I cannot recommend them enough!

My favorite thing about these 20 books is that it really shows how much of a mood reader I truly am. As you all probably know thrillers are my jam but it’s nice to see at the end of the year that I can still find a love for other genres among many new favorite thriller books and recs 🤍
