An angled wall can make a room tricky to design, but it doesn’t have to make the space unusable. For this upstairs nook, we combined pre-made cubbies in different sizes and framed them out to create built-ins that follow the slope of the wall.

Now this once-awkward space has a purpose, with room for books, storage, and favorite treasures—plus a cozy spot to sit and enjoy it all.

One of the biggest shifts we’re seeing in design is the embrace of high tactility—spaces that go beyond looking beautiful and invite you to experience them through touch. From textured glass to unlacquered brass, every surface has the ability to add depth and interest through subtle details.

Every decision in this guest bathroom was guided by three goals: to make the compact footprint feel as spacious, functional, and beautiful as possible. Throughout the design, we looked for opportunities to build onto and into the walls to keep the floor space clear. From the niches to the vertical towel rack and sliding barn door, each detail was carefully considered, creating a bathroom that feels open, elevated, and thoughtfully planned from every angle.
