My island is a small but mighty workhorse. It’s only 3’x5’ but it works for us. With 2 kids in college and only 1 left home, it’s the perfect size for the 3 of to eat at. (when my older kids are home we eat at the table). On Friday nights, we roll out the dough for pizza nights on it. When we have a big crowd, we pull the stools out and use it as a big buffet station.
