The way the plastic scraped up so easily šŸ˜µā€šŸ’« We consume microplastics in many different forms, but if I can consciously choose to NOT cook with them, it’s better than living in ignorance. You can reduce the amount of plastic and it gets easier when you focus on the small choices, which add up over time. Many people are saying wooden boards harbor bacteria and mold. The truth is, some woods are naturally antimicrobial and if you clean and dry them properly, there shouldn’t be huge issue. My stomach is able to breakdown wood better than plastic. You can always pop them in the oven at a low temperature or leave them in the sun to sanitize if you’re worried about bacteria. I’m sure there are better wood boards out there made without chemicals, and I’m choosing to focus on the small wins of slowly switching to better sustainable choices.
