This is a paint kit that makes a door look like real wood — no replacing doors required. Color I chose was pickled Oak. The first coat is a base paint that actually has real wood particles in it, which is why it looks so realistic. Then you go in with the glaze layer. You do have to work fairly quickly, but you brush it on and can either leave subtle brush lines or use a faux wood-grain tool to create the most insane, realistic grain. I highly recommend taping off sections so each panel looks like its own piece of wood — that detail makes a huge difference. Once it’s done, you seal everything with a matte clear coat for protection. I’ve had this on my door for about six months now with zero chipping, which honestly surprised me in the best way. You can also use this on cabinets, and one day I really want to try it on a garage door. What do you guys think — would you try this?
