I finally gave these boring builder-grade bifold doors a makeover and I’m honestly kicking myself for not doing this sooner. This DIY door upgrade completely transformed the space using masonite board, simple trim pieces, flexible rope molding, and leftover Barista paint from my pantry makeover. If you’ve ever wanted to make cheap bifold doors look custom, this is such an easy project. I used liquid nails and small finishing nails to attach the trim and flex rope molding, then added these beautiful brass handles to give it a vintage European look. The rope trim detail makes the doors look like custom millwork and adds so much charm and character to the room. This is one of my favorite budget-friendly home upgrades because it turns standard closet doors into something that looks high-end and architectural. If you’re looking for DIY bifold door ideas, builder grade upgrades, rope trim molding inspiration, or affordable DIY home projects, this one is definitely worth trying.
