Transparency Time: I wasn’t going to post this video because when I watched the footage, I honestly didn’t feel “pretty”. I also felt like I was stumbling over my words. Right as I was about to delete the footage, I remembered the promise that I made to myself. For the last year or so, I’ve vowed to be kinder to myself and not dwell so much on my “flaws”. I decided to start talking to myself like I would talk to a friend. With that being said, I decided to edit and upload the video and not worry that I’m not looking or sounding perfect in it! When I saw the name of this fragrance, I was definitely intrigued. At first sniff, it’s a gorgeous slightly chai spiced iris fragrance with some nutty nuances. I am going to wear this tonight and will report back tomorrow in my stories!

A vanilla fragrance is gonna get me every time! I came across Vanilla Aura by Maison Asrar while perusing the perfume sites last week. The notes sounded promising so I figured it was worth a try for less than $40!

Yesterday we had our monthly book club meeting to discuss Everybody Ain’t Your Friend by Tanisha Stewart. This book is an “urban suspense” novel. This one was different from a lot of the books we read. It was based around a young woman who finds herself in lots of bad relationship situations.

Overall, it was entertaining, but definitely not a book that I had to read. To be honest, I probably wouldn’t have finished it if it weren’t for my book club. The ladies in our club rated this book between 0.5 to 7 out of 10 and averaged about 4 out of 10 rating. My personal rating was a 3.

Although we didn’t love the book, we still had a great time meeting up to discuss. We actually were still able to have real conversations that were applicable to us even though we couldn’t relate much to the characters in the book.

We met at Oxford Exchange in Tampa, Florida which is a place that I have loved for a long time. The food and drinks were delicious as always!

Does the perfect vanilla exist? I think it does in Indult Tihota. This fragrance is an oldie, but a goodie and I think it is still very relevant in today’s fragrance space.

The notes on this fragrance are pretty simple: Tahitian vanilla, cane sugar, almond milk accord, tonka bean, white musk, and amber. Sometimes simplicity is all that you need.
