This sprinkle-rimmed cup is one of those little things my kids get excited about for every holiday.

For Valentine’s Day, I just swap in themed cups and add Valentine’s themed sprinkles.

I dip the rim of the cup in marshmallow fluff, then roll it in sprinkles, and add your favorite drink! We like using sparkling grape juice or milk the most but you can use any drink.

this Italian meatball soup is one of those easy, comforting meals I make when I want dinner to feel warm and familiar.

Italian meatball soup

Ingredients:
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1 medium onion, chopped
• 2 carrots, diced
• 2 celery stalks, diced
• 3 cloves garlic, minced
• 8 cups chicken or vegetable broth
• 2 cans (14 oz each) diced tomatoes
• 1 tsp dried basil
• ½ tsp dried thyme
• 1 cup small pasta (ditalini or orzo)
• Kale, chopped
• Frozen meatballs, cooked per package directions
• Salt & black pepper, to taste
• Fresh Parmesan, for serving

Instructions:
Sauté onion, carrots, celery, and garlic in olive oil.
Add broth, tomatoes, basil, and thyme; bring to a boil.
Add cooked meatballs and simmer 15–20 minutes.
Stir in pasta and cook until tender.
Add kale, season, and serve with Parmesan 🤍

As a photographer, one of my favorite things to capture has always been the way morning light dances through our home, across houseplants, quiet corners, and yes… the kids too.

But what I love most is how it forces me to slow down.
The light comes and goes so quickly. If I stay busy, I miss it.

This little spot by my coffee bar has been getting the prettiest glow lately. The other morning we were rushing out the door for church, and I almost walked right past it, until I reminded myself to pause and capture it while I could.

Because I knew by the time we came home… it would be gone.

Easy dinner for a cozy night in:
ina garten–inspired slow cooker pot roast

Ingredients:
• 3–4 lb beef chuck roast
• salt + black pepper
• olive oil
• 2 onions, chopped
• 4 cloves garlic
• 4 carrots, chunks
• 2 celery stalks
• 2 tbsp tomato paste
• 1 cup dry red wine
• 2 cups beef broth
• 1 tbsp Worcestershire
• thyme + bay leaves
• baby potatoes (optional)

How I make it:
Season and sear the roast until browned.
Sauté veggies, garlic & tomato paste. Deglaze with wine.
Add everything to the slow cooker and cook LOW 8 hrs (or HIGH 4–5).
Optional: thicken the gravy with a quick butter + flour roux.

Cozy, low-effort, and the kind of dinner that cooks while life happens.
