This is the number one request in my community- what basics do you need to build a wardrobe that actuates serves YOU.
These are the 15 items I use most often to create outfits I love over and over again. They work amazingly well mixed and matched among themselves, and are equally versatile when bringing new pieces in. They are my workhorses. My go-tos. The foundation of my fully FUNctional closet!

Notes:
• Beatles tee - I recommend the men’s fit in your regular size and choosing white for the color
• Ecco sneakers- these will be tight on the first wear. Choose your regular size. I recommend white.
• Button-down shirts- if you’re big busted, consider sizing up or choosing a style suited to your bust line. The Gal chambray is perfectly relaxed at your true size for small to regular bust lines.
• Choose a skirt in a color that works with your current clothes.
• The cream loafers run a bit large, so consider going down a half size.
• Chelsea boots run a bit small. They’ll typically stretch, but you won’t regret going up a half size, either.
• Choose the gauze white button-down if you get uncomfortable in button-downs. The fabric is thinner. Otherwise, a structured white button-down is my recommendation.
• If the Ribcage denim doesn’t work well for your body, try a curvy fit subtle barrel jean or a slightly wider leg jean

When pain and health conditions make it hard to wear typical shoes, try a fashion-forward sneaker!

My advice is 2-fold:
1- Choose a pair of sneakers in white or very neutral colors if you can. That will minimize their impact. If you can do a New Balance 327, they are stylishly chunky. But if you need a Hoka or OnCloud, try for one that’s white or neutral.
2- Honor where you’re at! Style isn’t a pass/fail subject. You have to be able to actually live your life and your clothes should serve YOU. So having shoes that make it possible to live with less pain is PART of your personal style right now. Wear them with gratitude and confidence as much as you can and you’ll be golden!!

Build a nighttime routine that makes it easy to get ready quickly!

My nighttime essentials:

HAIR
• Detangling Brush (gently dangles hair)

Mine is a vintage find, but I’ve rounded up some great ones at different price points.

I prefer 100% wool (the Aritzia marked as “exact product” is the best quality/warmth choice) or as close to that as possible for the warmth factor, but do what your budget allows!

So many requests for this graphic tee and I’m so sad to report that it is from Abercrombie earlier this year and is SOLD OUT. 😭
I’ve rounded up some other options that have similar vibes and fit to this one.
Main things to look for if you want to style this way- think boxy, long, oversized, but still fits in the shoulder.
Some tees will be listed as “oversized” in the listing. I typically take my true size when that’s the case. Otherwise, I consider going up 2 sizes from my normal and see how the shoulders fit.
We aren’t trying to look like we played dress up in our dad’s closet.
It can feel like a tricky needle to thread, but you only have to find one perfect oversized tee and you’re set, so keep trying!

My nighttime routine varies based on what skincare I’m currently hyper fixating on, but recently, I’ve been going back to products that offer great moisture benefits at affordable price points. I’m learning that I’d rather spend my skincare money on Botox every six months, as that has the most impact dollar for dollar.
Of course, you don’t have to do any of that! And a good skincare routine at night is plenty, as long as you wear sunscreen daily!
