Your shower hardware doesn’t need to be replaced… just upgraded 👀 I used Krud Kutter + sanding + automotive primer + Rustoleum to completely transform these shower fixtures—and it cost a fraction of replacing them. If you’ve been wondering how to spray paint shower fixtures or do a bathroom hardware upgrade on a budget, this is exactly what worked for me. 1. Clean Use Krud Kutter (or a degreaser) to remove ALL grime, soap scum, and residue 2. Sand Lightly sand everything (220–320 grit) to dull the finish so paint can stick 3. Rinse + Dry Wipe clean and let it fully dry—no dust or moisture 4. Tape + Prep Area Cover surrounding tile/walls and protect anything nearby 5. Automotive Primer Spray light, even coats (2–3 coats) Let dry between coats 6. Light Sand (optional) If it feels rough, lightly sand before paint 7. Spray Paint (Rustoleum) Apply multiple LIGHT coats (don’t try to cover in one pass) 8. Cure Time Let it fully cure before using (at least 24–48 hrs, longer = better durability) LTKHome
