This bathroom smelled like mildew no matter what we did… and it was driving me insane. At first I thought it just needed a deep clean. It didn’t. It was a combination of things most people don’t think about: • The walls were holding onto buildup and moisture — scrubbed with Krud Kutter • The grout had mildew deep inside it — scrubbed with RMR-86 • The glass shower door track was trapping EVERYTHING 🤢 • The exhaust fan wasn’t doing its job (huge issue) — replaced with a fantastic and quiet new one • And yes… even the P-trap can hold odor —easy to replace Once we addressed those, it finally started to feel like a completely different space. And the best part? We didn’t rip anything out. No new tile. No full renovation. Just fixing the real problems first. It’s already dramatically better—and we haven’t even touched the cosmetic updates yet 👀 Next step: updating everything WITHOUT replacing the tile (this is where it gets good) Follow along if you want to see how far we can push this on a budget. bathroomproblems budgetrenovation buildergrade diyhomeprojects diymom LTKHome
