Things I bought on a whim and now love - when we moved back to the mainland, we left 90% of our belongings on the island. So we had to replace nearly everything. Here are some of the things I didn't think I needed until I bought them. Collapsible collanders, butter crock, mini measuring cup, a GOOD knife set, essential oil for cooking burns, bread sling that helps so much, silicone sink barriers to help with splashes, garment steamer, and a slow cooker silicone liner.

As I approach 50, these are my non-negotiables. These are the things that are a part of my everyday, and I won't be giving up any time soon. The walking pad, high dose vitamin D, creatine, and collagen powder, vibration plate, tinted serum with skincare has replaced my usual foundation, topical skin spray to ward off any bacteria in the air, super nourishing body oil that smells like my garden in Hawaii, gentle face wash that takes off all my eye makeup without stinging or burning, the most nourishing thing I put on my face at night, and the one thing that helps reduce blood sugar spikes to keep my insulin level. These are all essential for longevity.

When we moved back to the mainland, we had to replace literally everything. Here are the most used kitchen purchases - the things that never go a day without being used. It actually made it easier to start with nearly a clean slate and make this mountain home a chic ski-lodge resort.
