6. The Power of Less by Leo Babauta :: 2/5⭐️. What does it say about me that I almost DNFed a self help book 😂. In my defense this was not the type of book I thought this was. I was anticipating a way to live w less stuff. What I got was an outdated (MySpace and pagers are mentioned…) way to use technology (*looks up publication date.. 2008..). Some of the principles mentioned were relevant and interesting, but overall, not for me. Also took me forever to read such a short book because it just didn’t hold my interest at all. This was not one of my Most Important Tasks! book / thrillers / romance / travel book / good reads / booktok books / book recommendations / on my bookshelf / kindle books / audio books / kindle girlie / kindle unlimited / amazon books / amazon reads / amazon readers / reading / reading must haves / trending books / kindle accessories / books accessories / books

91. Keep it in the Family by John Marrs :: 4.5/5⭐️ holy hell this book was GOOD. It took me forever to read it though because I definitely read it too soon after Flowers in the Attic, and there are only so many books about children I can take (that begin said, check your trigger warnings, folks!).. Mia and Finn move into their dream home, what they don’t know is that hidden behind a false wall in the attic lies secrets never meant to be uncovered, many suitcases full… this book was chock full of twists, and I absolutely would have ate this up in one sitting if it was the right time. This book also has the infamous single worded chapter (chapter 39); IYKYK! Plus I loved that the chapters were uber short! Happy reading!

90. Twisted games by Ana Huang :: 3.5/5⭐️ Rhys accepts a job as bodyguard for Princess Bridget and only has 2 rules: protect the client at all costs and don’t get emotionally involved. So far he’s had success, until he starts developing feelings for his newest client. This book has some parallel timelines to the first book in the series in the beginning half, but follows princess Bridget. This was a good book, but loooooong. I felt like I was listening for forever. It had slightly more spice than book 1. I also kind of felt like it was not realistic at all, but still a good story.

The Last Murder at the End of the World by Stuart Turton :: 3.5/5⭐️many years into the future in a post apocalyptic world, lies an island protected from the deadly fog that consumed the planet around 100 years prior. The island has a very small population of 120 people and 3 scientists. One night one of the scientists is found stabbed to death, triggering a series of failsafes that leaves the island in imminent threat of the deadly fog! If the murder is not solved in 107 hours, the fog will roll in killing everyone. The only problem is that the fail safe has also wiped everyone’s memories clean of the night before. Can they solve the murder and save the island!? I just couldn’t get into this one. I think it might have been the narrator, if you’re going to consume this book, I recommend reading it, instead of listening if you can! It definitely had potential to be an interesting book!

88. The Perfect Son by Freida McFadden :: 3.5/5⭐️ Erika Cass gets a knock on her door from a detective. A local high school girl has gone missing and her son, Liam, was the last person to see her alive! Erika has always suspected Liam has a dark side, and can not confidently say that her son was not involved. While I did love the twist at the end, I kind of felt like they were grasping at straws trying to make something happen when to me, it didn’t sound like it should happen. While the son in this story isn’t a child (he’s a teenager), it does start out and reference his childhood, and I think i’ve been reading one too many thrillers with children in it and I need a break.

87. Twisted Love by Ana Huang :: 4/5⭐️ Ava Chen is a sweet and free spirited woman who had a traumatic past that she can’t fully remember. She’s always had a thing for her brothers best friend, Alex Volkov, but when he is asked to look after her, they both start to develop feelings for each other. Alex helps Ava remember what actually happened in her childhood, which changes the game for everyone involved. While this book was definitely spicy, it was less so than I expected. I loved the storyline and the twists! The audiobook narration was good, but the male narration was so deep, even with the volume all the way up it was hard to hear sometimes if I didn’t have headphones on, so listener beware.

86. Expiration Dates by Rebecca Serle :: 4.5/5⭐️ at the start of every relationship, Daphne Bell gets a paper with his name and the amount of time they will be together on it. She’s always wondering when she’s going to find her forever love, so when she meets Jake on a blind date and receives his paper with no date on it, she’s sure she found her match, but when doubt starts to creep in, she’s left wondering what’s fate and what can be changed, or if she should change. The concept of this book was so good! I feel like it was different from other romance books of its kind. The book is told thru flashbacks to previous relationships, and the present relationship as we learn more about Daphne and what she is hiding. The book itself was on the shorter side, but I definitely recommend if you like a book with an interesting concept!

85. In the Likely Event by Rebecca Yarros :: 4.75/5⭐️ wow, ok! This book was GOOD! Intense and SO good! Let me start by saying if you’re going on a plane trip soon, don’t read this lol. 18 year old Izzy Astor and 19 year old Nate Phelan wind up sitting next to each other on a flight, both traveling for different reasons. Shortly after takeoff, the plane goes down in the cold waters of the Missouri river. While both survive, their lives are changed forever because of each other. Nate goes into the military and Izzy goes into politics, and over the next 10 years they have a few random encounters, until the last chance encounter when they randomly meet in Afghanistan when Nate is tasked with guarding Izzy’s life. What happened between the two, and can they finally get the timing right!? I haven’t read a book that held my attention like this in AGES! It was the perfect combination of romance, spice, and action! Definitely recommend!

84. Troubles in Paradise by Elin Hilderbrand :: 4/5⭐️ the last installment in the Paradise series and a nice wrap up to the storyline! Book 2 ended on a cliff hanger and we finally find out what happened to Russ and Rosie! This has been my favorite series of hers so far, and it really makes me want to visit St John USVI!

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix :: 3.5/5⭐️ when Louise gets a call from her deadbeat brother that their parents died in a car crash 2 days earlier, she begrudgingly jumps on a plane to face the family she ran away from. She’s responsible for getting everything in order. Selling the house is on her to do list, but it becomes pretty obvious from the beginning that the house doesn’t want to be sold. For fans of Chuckie and Annabelle, and not for people who hate dolls, this book read like an episode of Who’s Afraid of the Dark. I thought the concept was a little.. hoakie. Good book to read around Halloween.

82. Summer of ‘79 by Elin Hilderbrand :: 3.75/5⭐️. I listened to this one in the Endless Summer book. This novella follows Blair, Kirby, Tiger, and Jesse 10 years into the future. Exalta has passed away and everyone gathers on Nantucket to say their goodbyes. We learn what’s been happening with everyone from the first book and where they are now.
