25. The five star weekend by Elin Hilderbrand :: 9/10⭐️ Hollis Shaw, famous food blogger, has just lost her husband in a car accident and while the relationship she has with her daughter is also suffering, she has millions of adoring fans all over. In an effort to pull herself out of the state of despair she can’t seem to let go of, she hosts a “five star weekend” and invites a best friend from each of her stages of life- all while Hollis’ daughter, Caroline films the whole thing. Set in the picturesque Nantucket, 4 of Hollis’ friends are wined and dined at her expansive estate. But the weekend doesn’t come without its fair share of drama. From cancel culture, to fighting friends, to a secret that one of them is hiding that will sure disrupt the entire weekend. This book was actually not what I was expecting! This was the first book I read by Elin Hilderbrand and I have to say, I’m a fan! She writes a good story - similar to Taylor Jenkins Reid. I read the entire book as if I was sitting in a lounge chair at the pool during golden hour with the beach as my backdrop on Nantucket - i’ve never even been to Nantucket but this book makes me want to go! I did feel everything wrapped up a little quickly at the end, but overall I really enjoyed this book! Can’t wait to read more by Elin!
