42. Winter Street by Elin Hilderbrand :: 3.25/5⭐️. There is a lot going on in this shorter book and the family drama is full force. Kelley Quinn is the owner of Winter Street, a struggling Inn on Nantucket Island and his children come to visit for Christmas, each with their own problems. One of his children, Bart, from his second marriage, recently joined the marines and is away fighting in Afghanistan. Kelley’s first wife is a famous news anchor, and mother to his first 3 children. The book starts with Kelley walking in on his second wife kissing Santa Claus in one of the bedrooms. She quickly leaves with Santa, aka George, who she has been having an affair with for the past 12 years. The story takes place over about 3 days right around Christmas time. I had no idea where the story was going. While the questions were answered at the end of the book, it definitely left room for part 2. Some parts felt like a hallmark movie to me. I think this would have been a better story for December, but it was a take it or leave it book for me.
