57. The Witch of Willow Hall by Hester Fox :: 7/10⭐️ Lydia and her family move to New Oldbury, a suburb of Boston after an incident brings shame on the family. Willow Hall, which is usually the family’s summer home presents itself as their everyday home now. But what happens at Willow Hall is anything but happy, and although everyone’s life changes, one family member gets news she never expected. The first 70% of this book was so hard to get into. It was slow and I had no idea where the author was going w the story. It finally picked up during the last third, but eh, it was just ok for me. I was anticipating this being a Halloween book, and although there are ghosts and witches, it wasn’t scary at all.

55. Evidence of the affair by Taylor Jenkins Reid 9/10⭐️ this quick read, just under 90 pages, was cute. It hooked me from the beginning. The whole thing is in letter style between a desperate woman to a man whose wife she finds out is having an affair with her husband. The letters show the relationship and how it progresses and ends in a really sweet semi unexpected way. TJR is such a good story teller, and she’s one of my favorite authors. I love how she makes references to characters in other books she’s written in all of her books.

54. A court of wings and ruin by Sarah J Maas :: 9.5/10⭐️ this was probably my favorite of the A Court of Thorns and Roses book series so far! What a roller coaster tho! I hate writing summaries for book series because I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone who hasn’t gotten this far yet, but let’s just say it’s resolidified my love for one character and I changed my mind multiple times on another character… this book was very long at just over 700 pages and most chapters in the beginning were on the longer side as well. I still recommend this series!!

53. Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia :: 6/10⭐️. I had SUCH a hard time getting into this one! I went in totally blind and couldn’t figure out what kind of book this was until the last third. Debutant, Noemí Taboada receives a strange letter from her newly married cousin who moved into her husband family’s estate called High Place. Noemí makes the journey to see what’s going on with her, but what she finds is not at all what she was expecting and when the dreams start, will she be able to get away? Kind of gave me The Haunting of Hill House vibes, minus the creepy. Although the book is called Mexican Gothic and it takes place in Mexico, there really weren’t any Mexican or Spanish references or words. This book is touted as a “terrifying twist on a classic gothic horror”. I didn’t find it all that terrifying. I will say, if this was made into a movie I could see it being like an Indy horror-ish movie.

52. The Ex Hex by Erin Sterling :: 5/10⭐️. Vivi, a modern day witch, accidentally curses her ex boyfriend, Rhys when they broke up 9 years ago. Fast forward to present day and it seems like the curse isnt just for Rhys, but is affecting the whole town! Yeah, I was not a fan of this book. I thought it was a little corny, and honestly had a hard time following some parts, but i think that’s because I’m also watching the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina on Netflix simultaneously and it’s a very similar theme. I thought it would be cute since it’s a Halloween book, but honestly I would pass on this one.

50. Never Never by Colleen Hoover & Tarryn Fisher 9/10⭐️. This book was really cute! Charlie and Silas just woke up and they have no idea who they are, where they are, who they were saying (was it each other, other people?) what they look like sound like, who their friends and family are - NOTHING! But how!? And why!? In this 3 part book, the two search for answers finding something else entirely on the way. I was so glued to this book and could barely put it down! Kind of reminded me a bit of Six Months Later. I would consider this a beginner romance book great for a younger audience but still really good! I read it as a movie with a great cliffhangery ending!

49. Jar of Hearts by Jennifer Hillier :: 9.5/10⭐️ WOW-ZA. Holy cow this book was a roller coaster! Geo, Angela, and Kaiser are best friends. But when Angela goes missing and finally turns up in pieces 14 years later the truth begins to surface. Angela is the victim of the SweetBay serial killer, AKA, Geos first love. This book is detailed and disturbing and had so many jaw dropping moments. There is a serious trigger warning for rape, so just note that. But goodness, what a heartbreaking story! There were parts that were difficult to read and I kept getting mad at some of the characters. But SUCH a good book! I read it in under 3 days!

48. A court of Mist and Fury by Sarah J Maas :: 9.5/10⭐️. WOWZA!!! What an amazing ending!!!! This series is so good so far. This is the second book in the five part A Court of Thorns and Roses series, and picks up where the first left off. It’s really such a good series! This book ended on a bit of a cliff hanger. But I think I need a break after this 624 page book, before I dive into the next book which is 700+ pages!

47. Six Months Later by Natalie D Richards :: 9/10⭐️. Chloe is your average student finishing up her junior year of high school when she goes to sleep and wakes up…. 6 months into the future covered in dirt, with a lump on her head, a 1590 SAT score and a 3.9 GPA, unable to remember anything of what happened. Her best friend Maggie, won’t speak to her, she’s dating the crush she had 6 months prior and she’s about to uncover something crazy! I had no idea where this book was going while I was reading it, but I had to keep reading to find out! This book definitely kept me on my toes! I felt the ending was a little rushed, but it was still a great book! The chapters were pretty short and it was a quick read. This was the second book I read by this author and i’ve liked both of them!

46. Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas :: 9.5/10⭐️. THIS. BOOK!!!!! I freaking loved it! Major major CoHo vibes. Misha and Ryen were mistakenly paired together as pen pals in grade school when Ryens teacher thought Misha was a girl and vice versa and they have been writing letters to each other for all that time until one day Mishas letter stop. They made a pact to never go looking for each other or look each other up on social media, so when Misha went MIA Ryen was at a loss. Misha might be closer than Ryen expects tho. This book, although some of the chapters are looooong, was just so good, well written, there was even a pretty big twist at the end which I didn’t see coming at all! I’m telling you, if you loved Hopeless by Colleen Hoover, you’ll love this one! It was very spicy. I loved that there was something to take away from the book as well. Highly highly recommend this book!!

45. Things we never got over by Lucy Score :: 9.5/10⭐️. This was exactly the book I needed following a whole series about violence lol. I laughed, I teared up a little, and I can’t wait for part 2!!! Naomi was always the good twin, the responsible one. So when she finds herself as a runaway bride, she uses the call from her evil twin, Tina, to help her escape her impending nuptials. Tina, as per usual, leaves Naomi high and dry (and with her never before heard of 11 year old niece) and in a town where everyone has a bone to pick with Tina- which would be fine, if Tina and Naomi weren’t identical. Enter brooding and grumpy, Knox, and man who hates Tina as much as he hates getting close to anyone. This enemies to lovers story was just so good! It was definitely steamy AF. The ending set us up nicely for book #2! Highly recommend this book!

44. Allegiant by Veronica Roth :: 8/10⭐️. The last of the divergent series. This book continues where the last book left off. Although the chapters are relatively short, the book is very long, and I personally did not like the ending. Now time to watch the final movie!

43. Insurgent by Veronica Roth :: 9/10⭐️ the second in the divergent franchise, and a continuation of the first book. Definitely an action packed story line! I liked how the relationships developed in this book, and how we really got a feel for what the characters were going through and what they were feeling. Also that’s last chapter!!! Starting book number 3 now! If you’re comparing this series to Hunger Games, I personally like this series better. Although I’m not totally sure this genre of book is my favorite..
